We are pleased to announce our collaboration with Kubecost in the continuous integration with Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK). Kubecost now supports integration with the cost management of ACK. This collaboration will improve the FinOps capabilities of Alibaba Cloud.
Kubecost is a leading cost monitoring tool certified by the FinOps Foundation. Kubecost has empowered over 5,000 teams to monitor and optimize their costs. Kubecost is developed on top of the open-sourceproject OpenCost, which was onboarded as a Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) sandbox project in June 2022.
You can refer to the User Guide to install the latest beta release of Kubecost. After installing Kubecost, you can access its UI toview allocated spend across pods, optimize provisioning patterns to save, and set up alerts to ensure you stay compliant with internal cost policies. Kubecost lets you view cost allocation information by namespaces, clusters, applications, and labels. You can analyze the information to allocate resource costs among different teams or applications. O&M engineers and non-technical users such as financial advisors can also use Kubecost to set budgets and configure alerts to implement cost control.
