Alibaba’s Qwen App has officially integrated with Amap, China’s leading digital mapping and navigation platform serving over 170 million daily active users to deliver intelligent travel planning powered by Qwen AI model. With Amap being the first major Alibaba ecosystem service to integrate with the Qwen App, this move marks another milestone of Qwen App’s evolution into an intuitive life and work partner by deeply integrating with Alibaba’s broader ecosystem for real-world services.

By tapping into Amap’s massive real-time traffic data and a rich database of more than 200 million POIs (Point of Interest), Qwen App gains enhanced geographic understanding and spatial reasoning capabilities.

The integration enables the Qwen App to transform vague or complex user requests into actionable plans, such as restaurant and hotel recommendations, route planning, navigation, all through a single conversational interface.

For instance, users can simply type a single, natural-language request on Qwen App—such as “Find highly rated hotels near Hupao Street in Hangzhou that are comfortable and offer free cancellation, and also locate a few reliable nearby pharmacies that carry common emergency supplies”, Qwen App will call Amap’s core mapping and POI services in real time and then instantly orchestrate the entire travel journey. Behind the scenes, the AI interprets the intent, extracts keywords, filters millions of points of interest using live data and delivers tailored, decision-ready recommendations in visual, interactive card format.

The integration also supports multimodal inputs, allowing users to upload photos and files to trigger location recognition, recommendations and instant navigation.

Notably, Qwen App now taps into Amap’s recently launched “Amap Street Stars”, an AI-powered ranking for offline destinations from local restaurants and hotels to tourist attractions to refine and personalize recommendations.

Since its public beta launch on November 17, Qwen App has rapidly captured market attention, quickly climbing into the top three of Apple’s App Store free apps chart in China. The App has surpassed 30 million downloads within just 23 days after public beta launch, becoming one of the fastest-growing AI applications to date.

Moving forward, Alibaba plans to deeply integrate core lifestyle and productivity services across its ecosystem—from food delivery, travel booking to e-commerce shopping—directly into the Qwen App.
