Mexico City, Mexico, February 18, 2025 – Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, today announced the official launch of its first cloud region in Mexico, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to accelerating Mexico’s digital transformation and fostering innovation across Latin America. The new infrastructure will empower businesses, startups, developers, and organizations in Latin America with secure, resilient and scalable cloud services, unlocking more growth and innovation opportunities while strengthening Mexico’s position as a leading regional tech hub.

With this launch, Alibaba Cloud now boasts a global infrastructure network of 87 availability zones across 29 regions, further cementing its leadership position in the global cloud market.

The Mexico Region offers a comprehensive suite of cloud products, including elastic computing, storage, networking, container and security services, all compliant with ISO and CSA certifications. Tailored to meet the demands of Mexico’s e-commerce, logistics, fintech, and telecom sectors, the cloud region ensures low latency and enhanced data sovereignty in delivering cloud services.
In addition, Alibaba Cloud offers high-performance and cost-effective services to ensure businesses of all sizes can harness the power of cloud computing at an efficient manner. Competitive pricing models, pay-as-you-go options, and customized solutions will enable startups and enterprises alike in the Latin America region to optimize costs while scaling operations efficiently.
As part of its long-term commitment to the local Mexico market, Alibaba Cloud is planning to launch a series of local supporting programs to advance Mexico’s digital ecosystem. These initiatives include talent development by collaborating with local universities and institutions to equip the next generation with essential cloud and AI skills, promoting technology inclusion in the country; local SME and developer support programs, initiatives to help small and medium enterprises adopt cloud technologies to streamline operations and spark innovation; and community engagement activities such as hackathons, technology workshops, and innovation challenges to inspire students and startups to leverage cloud and AI tools to address real-world problems.

Alibaba Cloud first established its customer service center in Mexico City to support customers in the region in 2022. Alibaba Cloud has since partnered with leading local firms including Soft180, CONTPAQi, Coonectate, UST, Sobot, Viko, YunTek, Whale Cloud, VDE Suite and Dexmi to deliver tailored consulting services and industry-specific solutions. These partnerships highlight Alibaba Cloud’s efforts in fostering a vibrant ecosystem locally to drive innovation and Inspur growth opportunities.
CONTPAQi, a business management software provider in Mexico, collaborates with Alibaba Cloud to provide cloud-based solutions such as solutions for accounting, invoicing, electronic billing and inventory management. The partnership aims to help Mexican SMEs access leading technological tools in a cost-efficient and secure way.
