This topic describes the billable items, billing methods, payment methods, and refund methods of Simple Application Server.

Billable items

The following table describes the billable items involved in the use of simple application servers.
Billable item Description
Plan specifications Each resource plan consists of compute resources (vCPUs and memory), a storage resource (the system disk), and network resources (monthly data transfer quota and public bandwidth) and supports only the subscription billing method. When you create a simple application server, you must pay for the selected resource plan.
Data disk If you attach a data disk to a simple application server when you create the server, you must pay for the data disk. Data disks attached to simple application servers support only the subscription billing method. These disks are billed based on their sizes and usage duration.
Excess data transfers Each resource plan contains a data transfer quota. The data transfers that exceed the quota are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Related service If you use other Alibaba Cloud services to build websites on simple application servers, you must pay for the services.

Billing methods

Resource plans and data disks of simple application servers support only the subscription billing method.

After the data transfer quotas in the resource plans are used out, data transfers from the server to the Internet are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Note Excess data transfers to the Internet are billed and paid for on the hour. Make sure that you have sufficient balance in your Alibaba Cloud account to pay for excess data transfers by using the configured default payment method. Otherwise, the payment becomes overdue and your simple application server is stopped. For more information about the billing of data transfers, see Billing of data transfers.

Renewal

When simple applications servers expire, they are automatically stopped. If you want to continue using these servers, you must renew them within a specified period of time. Otherwise, the servers are automatically released and their data cannot be recovered. For more information, see Renew a server.

Payment methods

You can use one of the following payment methods when you purchase simple application servers:
  • Bank card
  • PayPal

    Alibaba Cloud pre-authorizes your PayPal account after your pay-as-you-go resources begin to incur charges.

  • Paytm (India)

    This payment method is applicable only to users in India. Alibaba Cloud pre-authorizes your Paytm account after your pay-as-you-go resources begin to incur charges.

Note Coupons are applied to your resource usage costs before bills are generated. No actual payments are involved.

Before you purchase simple application servers, you must bind a bank card, PayPal account, or Paytm (India) account to your Alibaba Cloud account. For more information, see Add a payment method in Account Management.
