Simple Application Server:Renewal policy

Last Updated:Feb 28, 2026

Simple Application Server uses subscription billing. Renew your servers before they expire to avoid service interruptions and data loss. You can manually renew up to 30 servers at a time. After you enable auto-renewal, you can cancel it or change the renewal period at any time.

What happens when a server expires

After a Simple Application Server expires, the following stages apply:

StageTimingWhat happens
Stopped and disabled15 days after expirationThe server is automatically stopped. You cannot access or use it. Renew the server to restart it.
Data retentionAnother 15 days after the server stopsServer data is still retained. Renew during this period to restart the server.
Permanent deletionAfter the retention period endsThe server, its snapshots, and custom images are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Important

Once the retention period ends, all data is unrecoverable. Enable auto-renewal to avoid accidental expiration.

Renew a server manually

  1. Log on to the Simple Application Server console.

  2. On the card for the server that you want to renew, click Renew.

  3. On the Renew page, confirm the server configuration, set the Subscription Duration, read and agree to the terms of service, and then click Buy Now.

Select the auto-renewal check box under Subscription Duration to enable auto-renewal. If selected, the renewal payment is automatically deducted 9 days before the resource expires.
  4. On the Payment page, confirm the order and complete the payment.

Auto-renewal

Auto-renewal prevents service interruptions by automatically deducting the renewal payment before your server expires.

Important
  • Enabling auto-renewal does not renew the server immediately. It only sets the renewal period, which takes effect the next day.

  • After the setting takes effect, the system attempts to deduct the payment on the day before expiration, on the expiration day, 6 days after expiration, and 14 days after expiration.

  • If the payment is still unsuccessful 14 days after expiration, the system makes no further deduction attempts. Manually renew the server within 30 days of the expiration date.

Manage auto-renewal settings

After you enable auto-renewal, you can disable it, change the renewal duration, or set the server to not renew.

Auto-renewal management options

Go to the Renewals page and select Simple Application Server from the Product Name list. On the Auto Renewal tab, the following actions are available:

  • Enable Manual Renewal: Disables auto-renewal for the server.

  • Modify Auto-renewal Settings: Changes the auto-renewal period.

  • Renew: Immediately renews the server. After renewal, the system calculates the next auto-renewal time based on the new expiration date.

  • Nonrenewal: Sets the server to expire at the end of its current subscription period instead of being auto-renewed.

Batch renewal

To manage the expiration dates of multiple servers, batch renewal is more efficient.

Limit: You can renew up to 30 servers in a single batch operation.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Simple Application Server console.

  2. Select the cards for the servers that you want to renew, and then click Renew in the menu at the bottom.

FAQ

If I manually renew a server that has auto-renewal enabled, will I be charged twice?

No. Manual renewal takes precedence. The system calculates the next auto-renewal time based on the new expiration date.

How is the new expiration date calculated if I renew after expiration?

A Simple Application Server is automatically stopped and disabled 15 days after it expires. If you renew it during this 15-day period, the new expiration date is calculated as follows: Original Expiration Date + Subscription Duration. For example, if a server expires on July 26 and you renew it for one month on July 31, the new expiration date is August 26.

Are renewal orders refundable?

Yes. Log on to the Unsubscribe page to check whether the renewal order has taken effect:

  • Unsubscribe Inactive Renewals tab: The order has not taken effect. Apply for a full refund.

  • Unsubscribe Resources tab: The order has taken effect. The refund is processed based on the partial refund rules.

For more information, see Refund policy.

Why did auto-renewal fail?

Enabling auto-renewal only sets the renewal period -- it does not immediately renew the server. The system attempts to deduct the payment 3 days before expiration, 1 day before expiration, on the expiration day, 6 days after expiration, and 14 days after expiration. If a deduction fails, the system retries at the next scheduled time.

The most common cause is insufficient account balance. Top up your account and manually renew the server if all automatic attempts fail.

Can I downgrade the server configuration during renewal?

No. Simple Application Server only supports upgrades. Downgrades are not supported.
