Security Center:Refund policy

Last Updated:Jan 21, 2026

If you no longer need the security protection features of Security Center, you can release your purchased Security Center instance and receive a refund. This topic describes the refund rules and procedures for Security Center based on different billing methods and scenarios.

Refund rules

Security Center supports partial refunds, and refunds for unactivated renewal periods. Two types of refunds are supported. Before you request a refund for a Security Center instance, familiarize yourself with the refund rules, precautions, and examples. For more information, see Refund Rules.

Important

This topic describes the procedure to unsubscribe from an entire Security Center instance. If you only need a refund for unused authorizations or value-added services in your Security Center instance, you can downgrade the instance to receive a refund. For more information, see Upgrade and Downgrade.

Data retention notice

  • Configuration data: After you unsubscribe, your configuration data is retained for 7 days. This lets you renew the instance during this period.

  • Log analysis data: Your log analysis data is retained until 00:00:00 (UTC+8) on the day after you unsubscribe. If you renew the instance before this time, your log analysis data is not released.

Self-service unsubscription in the console

You can unsubscribe from a purchased Security Center instance by submitting a request in the console.

  1. Go to the Unsubscription Management page, where you can quickly filter target resources by Instance ID or Order Time .

  2. Choose the appropriate unsubscription operation based on the subscription status of your Security Center instance.

    • Non-full refund

      1. On the Unsubscription Management page, click the Unsubscribe In-Use Resources tab.

      2. Click the Standard Cloud Products tab and select the Partial Refund type.

      3. Click Unsubscribe From Resource in the Actions column of the resource that you want to unsubscribe from.

      4. On the Unsubscribe From Resources page, confirm the resource information and set the Reason For Unsubscription . Then, select the I Have Read The Unsubscription Rules And Confirm The Refund Amount and I Confirm That The Instance Data Has Been Backed Up And Migrated check boxes.

      5. Click Unsubscribe Now . After you confirm the content in the Prompt dialog box, click OK .

    • Cancel a pending renewal

      1. On the Unsubscription Management page, click the Renewal Cancellation tab.

      2. Click Cancel Renewal in the Actions column of the target resource.

      3. On the Cancel Renewal page, confirm the resource information, set the New Expiration Date , and then select the I Have Read And Understood The Unsubscription Rules And Confirm The Refund Amount check box.

      4. Click Unsubscribe Now . Confirm the content in the Prompt dialog box and then click OK .

  3. Optional: After your unsubscription request is successful, on the Unsubscription Management page, you can click Unsubscription Records to view the processing details.

Troubleshooting

If the message "Failed to retrieve unsubscription resource information" appears when you try to unsubscribe, it indicates that the resource is in an abnormal state. For example, the instance has an overdue payment, is locked for security reasons, or is being upgraded or downgraded. You cannot unsubscribe from the resource in the console.

Refund destination

  • After you successfully unsubscribe, the refund is processed within approximately two business days.

  • Refunds are typically returned to the original payment method. If the refund to the original payment method fails, the amount is automatically credited to your Alibaba Cloud account balance.
