SAG-100WM web console
To connect a Smart Access Gateway (SAG) device to Alibaba Cloud, you can configure it in the Alibaba Cloud console or in its web console.
Background information
- SAG-100WM devices support the 1.0.x and 2.0.x software version series. For more information about the features of each version series, see Hardware features. This topic describes how to use the SAG-100WM web console and uses software version 2.0.3 as an example.
If your device runs a 1.0.x software version, we recommend that you upgrade it to a 2.0.x version. You can submit a ticket to request a version upgrade.
- To avoid browser compatibility issues, we recommend that you use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to log on to the SAG-100WM web console. For more information about browser compatibility, see Browser compatibility for the SAG web console.
Step 1: Configure the local client
Before you configure an SAG-100WM device in its web console, you must enable DHCP for the on-premises client.
- Windows client: Configure a dynamic IP address for the Windows client. The following steps use Windows 10 as an example.
- In the lower-right corner of the desktop, right-click the network connection icon, and then click Open Network & Internet settings.
- In the right-side panel, click Change adapter options.
- Right-click the connected network, and then click Properties.
- In the Ethernet Properties dialog box, on the Networking tab, find and double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) in the This connection uses the following items list.
- Select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
- Click OK.
- macOS client: Configure a dynamic IP address for the macOS client.
- On the desktop, click the System Preferences icon, and then click Network in the Internet & Wireless section.
- Click the connected network, and then click Advanced.
- On the Ethernet settings screen, click the TCP/IP tab.
- From the Configure IPv4 drop-down list, select Using DHCP.
Step 2: Set the initial password
- The Smart Access Gateway device has started.
- DHCP is enabled for the on-premises client. For more information, see Step 1: Configure the local client.
- Use an Ethernet cable to connect your local PC to a LAN port of the Smart Access Gateway device.
192.168.88.1On the connected local PC, open a browser and enter in the address bar.Note- If the LAN port is configured with a static IP address, use that address to log on.
- If the LAN port is configured to use a dynamic IP address, a CIDR block is configured in the console, the WAN port uses DHCP, and the CLOUD indicator is on after you connect the cable, log on by using the first IP address of the first private CIDR block that is configured in the console.
For example, if the first private CIDR block is 172.16.0.0/16, the IP address for web configuration is 172.16.0.1.
- If neither the LAN port nor the console is configured, log on to the web console by using the default IP address.
192.168.0.1If your device runs a 1.0.x software version, the default logon IP address for the web console is .192.168.88.1If your device runs a 2.0.x software version, the default logon IP address for the web console is .
- When you log on to the web console for the first time, you are prompted to set a logon password. Enter a password.
Keep your password secure. If you forget the password, briefly press the RESET button to clear it.
- Log on to the web configuration page.
Step 3: Configure the device
After logging on to the web console of the Smart Access Gateway device, you can configure the device. SAG-100WM supports multiple features to meet your requirements in different deployment scenarios. You can follow the SAG-100WM device usage process to configure the device and connect to Alibaba Cloud. For more information, see SAG-100WM usage process.
- Configure the WAN port.
- In the top navigation bar of the web console, click Configure.
- Click the Manage WAN Ports tab to configure the WAN port.
By default, the connection type of the WAN port on an SAG-100WM device is Dynamic IP. The IP address of the WAN port is automatically obtained from the peer device.Note You can change the connection type based on your business scenario. For more information about the WAN port parameters, see Configure a WAN port.
- Configure the LAN port.
- In the top navigation bar of the web console, click Configure.
- Click the Manage LAN Ports tab to configure a LAN port.
- Wired configuration
By default, the connection type of the LAN port on an SAG-100WM device is Dynamic IP. Devices connected to the LAN port automatically obtain IP addresses through DHCP. You can configure the LAN port based on your business scenario. For more information about the LAN port configuration parameters, see Configure a LAN port.
When you configure a LAN port in the web console, if the connection type is Dynamic IP, the gateway device allows you to specify a custom private CIDR block.
- Not selected: Allows you to specify a custom interface IP address and DHCP address pool.
- Custom CIDR Block: Allows you to enter a custom address range. The system automatically allocates an interface IP address and a DHCP address pool. You can also manually adjust the allocated addresses.
- Available CIDR blocks: If you configured on-premises routes in the Smart Access Gateway console, the available IP address ranges are automatically obtained and displayed for you to select.
- Wireless LAN configuration
The wireless LAN feature is disabled by default. If you want to enable this feature, see Configure wireless settings for information about the configuration parameters.
- Wired configuration
- Manage routes
- In the top navigation bar of the web console, click Configure.
- Click the Manage Routes tab.
To configure routing, see Configure a static route, Configure OSPF routing, and Configure BGP routing.Note SAG-100WM devices that run a 2.0.x software version support OSPF and BGP dynamic routing configuration only in the web console. You cannot configure dynamic routing in the Alibaba Cloud console.
Step 4: (Optional) Configure HA
SAG-100WM devices support high availability (HA).
- In the top navigation bar of the web console, click Configure.
- Click the HA Settings tab.
SAG-100WM supports HA configuration to prevent service interruptions from single-device failure. For more information about the parameters, see Configure device-level high availability.
