Configure wireless
The SAG-100WM device has a built-in Wi-Fi radio, letting mobile terminals connect to your private network over Wi-Fi instead of a wired connection. This topic describes how to configure Wi-Fi on an SAG-100WM device in the Smart Access Gateway (SAG) console.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
An SAG-100WM device
Configure Wi-Fi settings
Log on to the Smart Access Gateway console.
Open the Device Management tab using either method:
Click the ID of the target SAG instance. On the instance details page, click Device Management.
Find the target SAG instance. In the Actions column, choose
> Device Management.
On the Device Management tab, click Manage LAN Ports.
In the LAN-Wireless section, click Edit.
On the WiFi Settings page, configure the following parameters.
Network identity
Parameter Description SSID The Wi-Fi network name broadcast to wireless devices. Must be 1–31 characters and can contain letters and digits. SSID Broadcast Enables wireless devices to detect and connect to this network. Enable SSID broadcast so that other wireless devices can receive the Wi-Fi signals. Wireless signal
Parameter Description Channel The Wi-Fi channel. Valid values: 0–11. Bandwidth The channel bandwidth. Supported values: Automatic, 20MHz, 40MHz. Security settings
Parameter Description WiFi Security Controls whether a password is required to join the network. When enabled, only users with the correct password can connect. When disabled, anyone can connect without a password. Enable this setting to protect your network. Authentication Type The Wi-Fi authentication protocol. Supported values: WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK. Use WPA2-PSK — it is more secure. Encryption Algorithm The cipher used to encrypt Wi-Fi traffic. Supported values: Automatic, TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol), AES (Advanced Encryption Standard). Password The password required to join the Wi-Fi network (applies when WiFi Security is enabled). Must be 8–32 characters and can contain letters and digits. Confirm Password Re-enter the password to confirm. Click OK.
