Smart Access Gateway:Associate a Smart Access Gateway (SAG) instance

Last Updated:Jul 17, 2026

An on-premises network can use application acceleration only after the connected Smart Access Gateway (SAG) instance is associated with an application acceleration plan.

Prerequisites

Ensure the following requirements are met:

  • To associate an SAG CPE instance, ensure the device version is 2.4.0 or later.

If the device version is earlier than 2.4.0, upgrade it. For more information, see Update the version.

  • To associate an SAG app instance, ensure the client software version is 2.4.0 or later.

If the client software version is earlier than 2.4.0, upgrade it. For more information, see Install the client.

  • The SAG instance must be in the Available state.

  • You must have purchased an application acceleration plan. For more information, see Use an application acceleration plan.

Associate from the Application Acceleration Plan page

  1. Log on to the Smart Access Gateway console.
  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Application Acceleration Plan.

  4. On the Application Acceleration Plan page, find the target plan and click its ID.

  5. On the Associated SAG Instances tab, click Associate With SAG Instance.

  6. In the Associate With SAG Instance dialog box, click Add, configure the following parameters, and then click OK.

    Note

You can associate up to 20 SAG instances at a time.

    Parameter

    Description

    SAG Model

Select the type of SAG instance.

    Supported SAG instance types:

    • SAG CPE, which includes the following device models:

      • SAG-1000

      • SAG-100WM

    • SAG app

    SAG Instance

Select the ID of the SAG instance.

    Maximum Bandwidth for Application Acceleration

Specify the maximum application acceleration bandwidth for the SAG instance in Mbit/s.

    Note

The maximum bandwidth for each SAG instance cannot exceed the maximum bandwidth of the associated application acceleration plan.

Associate from the SAG instance page

You can also associate SAG instances from the SAG page or the SAG App Instances page.

  1. Log on to the Smart Access Gateway console.
  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region.

  3. Go to the relevant page based on the SAG instance type.

    • In the navigation pane on the left, click Smart Access Gateway > Instance Management to open the SAG page. This page lists all SAG CPE instances.

    • In the navigation pane on the left, choose Smart Access Gateway APP > SAG App Instances to open the SAG App Instances page. This page lists all SAG app instances.

  4. Find the target instance, and in the Operation column, choose 更多图标 > Associate with Bandwidth Plan.

  5. In the Associate with Bandwidth Plan dialog box, select the target application acceleration plan, set a maximum bandwidth for the instance, and then click OK.

The maximum bandwidth that you set for an SAG instance cannot exceed the maximum bandwidth of the associated application acceleration plan.

Next steps

After the association, configure application acceleration rules to allocate bandwidth to specific applications for on-premises network acceleration. For more information, see Add and manage application acceleration rules.

Related operations

If your on-premises network no longer needs application acceleration, you can disassociate the SAG instance from the application acceleration plan.

  1. Log on to the Smart Access Gateway console.
  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Application Acceleration Plan.

  4. On the Application Acceleration Plan page, find the target plan and click its ID.

  5. On the Associated SAG Instances tab, find the target SAG instance and click Disassociate in the Operation column.

  6. In the Disassociate SAG Instance from Bandwidth Plan dialog box, confirm the instance ID and click OK.
