Quick BI:Treemap Chart

A treemap chart displays hierarchical data as nested rectangles, showing how a measure is proportionally distributed across categories.

Prerequisites

You have created a dashboard. Create a dashboard.

Chart Overview

Use Cases

Visualizes how dimension values distribute as a proportion of a measure, emphasizing relative category sizes.

Benefits

  • Visual effects: Customize rectangle styles and data labels.

  • Annotations: Highlight data points and configure jumps to reports or external links.

Limitations

  • A treemap chart uses Labels (Dim.) and Size (Mea.):

    • Labels (Dim.): Up to two dimensions from your data.

    • Size (Mea.): One measure from your data (for example, shipping cost).

  • When a treemap chart uses multiple dimensions, drilling is not supported.

Configure Chart Data

  1. On the Fields tab, add a dimension and a measure to the chart:

    • From the Dimensions list, double-click or drag Product Type to the Labels (Dim.) field.

    • From the Measures list, double-click or drag Order Amount to the Size (Mea.) field.

  2. Click Update. The chart updates automatically.

Configure Chart Style

These style settings are treemap-specific. Title and card settings are covered in Configure the chart title area.

Configure these settings in the Style Settings section on the Style tab.

Rectangle

Configure color schemes and merge data into an 'Others' category.

    For single-dimension charts, group smaller rectangles into an 'Others' category by setting a threshold, name, and color.

Legend

Toggle the image icon to show the legend and configure its style.image

Note
  • With multiple dimensions, only the parent dimension legend is displayed.

  • Legend settings for PC and mobile are independent. Switch to the mobile editor with the PC/Mobile toggle (image) to configure mobile-specific settings.

Data Label

Set the visibility, content, and format of data labels.

  • Content: You can display the Percentage and Measure.

    Note
    • When displaying the percentage, set decimal places (0, 1, or 2) in Percentage Decimal Places.

    • With multiple dimensions, you can also display the parent dimension.

  • Position: Label position in the rectangle: Auto, Center, or Top Left.

  • Text: Label text format: size, weight (bold), and style (italic).

  • Percentage Decimal Places: Available when Percentage is selected for Content. Options: 0, 1, or 2 decimal places.

Tooltip

Set the content, background color, and text style of the tooltip.

Note
  • The parent dimension option in Content is available only with multiple dimensions.

  • When Percentage is selected in Content, set decimal places (0, 1, or 2) in Percentage Decimal Places.

  • Tooltip settings for PC and mobile are independent. Use the PC/Mobile toggle (image) to switch views. Font size is set per view; other styles apply universally.

Total

Set the name and text style of the total.
