FAQ
Q: Why don't Coding Plan models work in Cursor?
A: If you see these errors:
The model xxx does not work with your current plan or API key.
Named models unavailable. Free plans can only use Auto. Switch to Auto or upgrade plans to continue.
Cursor Free only supports Auto mode. Upgrade to Cursor Pro or higher to use custom models like Coding Plan.
Q: Why do I get “We're having trouble connecting to the model provider.” or “Unauthorized User API key”?
A: Possible causes:
The model names glm-5, glm-4.7, and kimi-k2.5 conflict with built-in Cursor model names, causing authentication failures.
Use these aliases when adding models: kimi-k2-5 for kimi-k2.5, glm-4-7 for glm-4.7, and glm-5-0 for glm-5.
The model you called does not exist. For supported models by deployment modes, see Model list.
Calling models from other providers after configuring Model Studio’s endpoint and API key. To use other models, reconfigure or disable OpenAI API Key and Override OpenAI Base URL as needed.
