Chat App Message Service:Manage Viber service accounts

Attach a Viber Business Account to the Alibaba Cloud Chat App Message Service. This service lets you apply for a service account, change message destinations, and pause the service. This document describes the configuration flow and provides a review guide to help you efficiently integrate the Viber message channel.

Prerequisites

You have created a Viber channel.

Apply for a Viber service account

Note

A Viber channel supports applying for and attaching only one Viber Business Account. To manage multiple Viber Business Accounts, you must create multiple Viber channels.

The Service ID is a unique ID generated after you register a Viber Business Account and it passes the review. The information is submitted to Viber for review. Ensure that the information you provide is authentic.

  1. Log on to the Chat App Message Service console.

  2. In the navigation pane on the left, select Channel Management.

  3. On the Channel Management page, click the Channel ID of the Viber channel that you want to manage.

  4. On the channel action page, select Service Number Management.

  5. On the service account management page, click Apply for Service Number.

  6. On the application page, fill in the Basic Information as prompted. For field descriptions, see Application material field descriptions.

    1. After you fill in the application materials, click Submit for Review at the bottom of the page. You can also click Save to save the materials as a draft and submit them later.

    2. To continue editing saved materials, click Edit on the service account management page to open the application page.

    Note

    After you submit the application, wait for the review result. If the application is rejected, modify it based on the provided rejection reason.

    After the application is approved, the service account appears on the Service account management page, as shown in the following figure:

Application material field descriptions

Business account name

The name of the Viber Business Account.

Use your company name.

Company legal name

Only English letters, digits, spaces, special characters (such as *'&+), and common symbols (such as ©®™§°$€£¥) are supported.

This must be the legal name from the company registration document or business license.

Business license registration number

The official business license registration number or ID number issued by the authorities in the country or region where the company is located. Only English letters, digits, spaces, special characters (such as *'&+), and common symbols (such as ©®™§°$€£¥) are supported.

This must be the registration number from the company registration document or business license.

Full headquarters address

The full registered address of the company headquarters, based on official records. If necessary, Viber may request registration documents, including certified English translations if applicable, for verification. Only English letters, digits, spaces, special characters (such as *'&+), and common symbols (such as ©®™§°$€£¥) are supported.

Viber uses the company headquarters address to determine local and international rates. Messages sent to the headquarters country or region are charged at the local rate. Messages sent to other countries or regions are charged at the international rate.

Company legal representative name

Only English letters, digits, spaces, special characters (such as *'&+), and common symbols (such as ©®™§°$€£¥) are supported.


Company profile

A brief introduction to the company, within 1,000 characters.


Company address

The detailed address of the company. You can add up to 5 addresses.


Company phone number

The company phone number. You can add up to 5 numbers.


Company website

The full URL of the official company website.

  • The official website address must start with http:// or https://.

  • The website must be accessible.

  • Do not use an app download address, a media page, or any other irrelevant addresses.

Industry

The industry classification of the company.

Select the correct industry. If the company is in the lending industry, you must select Microcredit or Lending, unless it is a bank. For games, gambling, or betting, select Gaming or Betting.

The preceding industries are considered special industries by Viber. You must sign a letter of guarantee and provide business license documents for these industries.

Age restriction

Select the age restriction for the services in your industry.

Select an option based on your business:

No restrictions, 18+, or 21+.

Company English name

The full English name of the company.


Company registration country/region

Select the country or region where the company is registered.


Local destination country/region (single-choice)

This is the same as the company's headquarters country or region.

Select the option that matches the company's headquarters country or region.

International destination countries/regions (multiple-choice)

The destination countries or regions where you want to send messages.

This is optional. You can select up to 20 countries or regions. Do not include the local destination country or region. Messages to international destinations are charged per message at the international rate, regardless of message type. Viber lets you send messages only to the countries or regions for which you have applied.

Business message activation date (GMT)

Specify the official activation date for business messages. The date is in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). You cannot send messages before the activation date.

You can specify the activation date for the business account. The date is in GMT. The monthly fee is waived for the activation month (calendar month). Starting from the following month, a monthly fee is charged if your message spending does not reach the minimum monthly fee amount.

Business message conversation name

You can use your native language. The business message conversation name is displayed to customers as the sender name.

You can use your native language for the conversation name. This name is displayed to Viber end users as the account name.

Business message conversation profile

Enter a profile for the account or business, within 400 characters.

This content is displayed to Viber end users.

LOGO

Provide company logos in various sizes. Each image cannot exceed 200 KB. Only the PNG format is supported.

The logo must be complete and not cropped. Center the logo. You must provide logo images in all required sizes.

Letter of guarantee

The official Viber letter of guarantee document.

This is optional for regular industries but required for special industries such as microcredit, lending, gaming, betting, and gambling. You must upload the specific letter of guarantee for the special industry. When you select an industry, the downloaded template automatically corresponds to that industry.

If the industry in the letter of guarantee does not match the selected industry, the application will be rejected. Ensure that you select the correct industry before you download the template.

Supplementary materials

If your business is in the gaming/betting or microcredit/lending industry, Viber may require additional license documents.

Package all license files into a single ZIP file and upload it.

Not required for regular industries.

For special industries, you must upload an official license issued by the country or region where the company is located.

Apply to change destinations

You can apply to add or remove message destinations.

  1. Click Change Destination.

  2. In the dialog box that appears, reselect the destinations.

  3. Click OK. You can view the application progress on the service account management page.

Apply for suspension

If you do not need to use the Viber service temporarily, you can apply to suspend it.

  1. Click Apply for Suspension.

  2. In the dialog box that appears, select a suspension date and enter a reason for the application.

  3. Click OK to submit the application. You can then view the application's progress on the Service Account Management page.

    Note

    The suspension date is in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Billing stops from the month after the suspension is approved. Suspension applications for the current month are not accepted after the 25th of that month. The actual suspension time is subject to Viber's approval.
