Hope Website: Online Platform to Spread Positive Energy

This project is from Lim JIn Yung, which was awarded second place (shared) in the Alibaba Cloud Developer Initiative 2021.

Project Introduction

We are a team of university students from different fields, gathered here together and hoping to make some contribution to the world in some way. Our aim is to spread positivity by building a platform which allows people to share their story, encouraging others that may also face the same issues or challenges. We also wish to motivate people by providing daily quotes and recommend readings into the website.

Hope Website consists of a collection of spirit-lifting and positive guidelines and quotes for individuals who are feeling lost and anxious during the Covid-19 pandemic or who are just having a bad day. Users can also register an account to upload and share their own experience to the confession page or upload their portfolio to the website.

In the future, Hope Website plans to upgrade the website and to provide more functionality as well as to expand the user base. We sincerely wish to affect more people, spread positivity and make a better world.

The aim and main purpose of this website is to help people and spread positivity. Hence, our main plan is to expand the number of users of our website and build a donation/funding page in our website as well. The donation, of course is to help people who needed help, but only a little part of the money will be treated to the team as "coffee money" (maybe 9-1 or 8-2?). But the donation page will be built only after we really have a number of user in our website. The team will constantly update the page to serve it better.

Alibaba Cloud Products Used

For our website, we are using an ECS instance to hold our Django project, ApsaraDB for RDS as the database, and OSS to serve static files.

About the Developer

We are a team of final year students from Monash University Malaysia. There're two software developers and two graphic designers in our team. Most of us came from different backgrounds including Computer Science, Engineering, and Business.
