Built by Team Veeda, GoZero is an AI-powered sustainability assistant designed to help users take meaningful steps toward better waste management—without disrupting their routines. It’s smart, contextual, and built for real life.
Team Veeda brings together professionals from banking, consulting, and engineering backgrounds. With deep insight into system design, user behavior, and data modeling, they approached the waste problem not just as technologists, but as citizens who care about environmental sustainability.
Their starting point: how can we make it easier for everyday users to make more sustainable choices?
Their answer: a digital assistant that meets users where they are, and guides them on what to do next.
GoZero is more than just a recycling app. It’s a personal sustainability assistant that empowers users to:
● Snap a photo of their waste
● Get instant insights into the waste category (plastic, paper, organic, etc.)
● Receive location-based suggestions for recycling drop-offs
● Schedule pickups for recyclable items through GoSend, seamlessly integrating with GoTo's logistics ecosystem
Whether it’s suggesting what to do with your used bottle or guiding you to the nearest recycling point, GoZero turns complex processes into simple, actionable steps.
To create a truly intelligent and secure experience, GoZero uses a range of Alibaba Cloud technologies:
● Qwen VL Max – To identify recyclable materials from photos, accurately classifying different types of waste
● Qwen Max – To power a smart chatbot that offers real-time advice and answers sustainability-related questions
● Model Studio – For training and managing AI workflows
● ECS (Elastic Compute Service) – Hosting the application backend
● PostgreSQL – To manage structured user data and history
It’s a smart system that feels simple—because great tech should work quietly in the background.
GoZero was inspired by the GoTo Three Zeros initiative, specifically the goal to reach zero waste. But the team went a step further—building a solution that not only aligns with corporate sustainability goals, but also brings those goals closer to the users.
Instead of relying on top-down change, GoZero creates a feedback loop between individuals and infrastructure. Every interaction is an opportunity to build awareness, take action, and create impact.
GoZero was selected as one of the winning projects from the Alibaba Cloud Global AI Hackathon – Indonesia. The project stood out for its technical execution, strong alignment with a real-world problem, and its integration with existing ecosystems like GoSend.
It’s a clear example of how AI can drive sustainability—not through big statements, but through small, everyday decisions made easier by good design and smart infrastructure.
