Project Introduction

1

The dashboard presents a clear and logically patterned visualization of the landscape of startups in Bangladesh. It provides a broad view with its storytelling by structuring the past trends from 2010 to 2024, then combining them to highlight the present opportunities that have been created through the past actions, and forecasting the future led by the opportunities. The dashboard is designed in a way that can serve the investors, entrepreneurs, and policymakers in decision-making. It also provides necessary insights to the researchers.

Project Value

The main value point of the dashboard is that it simply visualizes the complex data of the startup ecosystem in a structure that puts more meaning into it. It has been designed following a time-sequenced narrative, from the Past (Trends) to the Present (Opportunities) to the Future (Forecast).

So, how do the relevant stakeholders benefit from my project?

  • Investors can identify the promising sectors and regions suitable for their investment requirements and match their investment type.
  • Policymakers can easily get access to the ecosystem and the data of startups, sectors, and regions to emphasize their policies more effectively and set more specific and realistic approaches.
  • Entrepreneurs and researchers can spot more opportunities and challenges.

Solution

Bangladeshi startups have performed really well in recent years. They have shown remarkable growth and endless opportunities within their ecosystem. Yet they struggle to secure adequate funding, which is limiting them from growing beyond their current state. And one of the key reasons behind that is the unavailability and scattered nature of the relevant data. Therefore, the potential investors hesitate to invest, and the policy makers remain uncertain about which areas need more focus and support for the sake of national well-being.

Recognizing the problem, I decided to work on this project; therefore, I started researching the relevant data, compiled & analyzed it, and then structurally visualized it. As my dashboard solves the problem of unavailable and scattered data, it may now help the investors and policymakers to make decisions.

Highlights

Past: Demonstrated steady growth in startups between 2010–2024, with certain sectors and regions emerging as leaders.

Growth Drivers: Job creation and enabling factors (ecosystem support, policy initiatives) show a solid foundation for further development.

Present Opportunities: Specific sectors and indicators reveal where investor attention is currently most valuable, while challenges (like lack of resources) remain.

Future Outlook (2030): The ecosystem is projected to contribute significantly to the national economy, signaling high potential for both investors and government.
