inMalaysia: Malaysia’s unique wonders, attractions and destinations

This project is from Evelyn Toh Lee Ann, which was awarded third place (shared) in the Alibaba Cloud Developer Initiative 2021.

Project Introduction

inMalaysia strives to highlight Malaysia's unique wonders, attractions and destinations. We've compiled a variety of local gems that you can add to your travel list should you feel like going on a getaway sometime soon. From scenic highlands and nature getaways to exciting theme parks, we've got you covered! It's never too late to discover the scenic wonders in Malaysia.

The project was a great learning experience for young developers such as ourselves to build a fully functional website. We had the opportunity to improve on our technical skills for coding and developing the website and UI/UX skills for designing the website.

Alibaba Cloud Products Used

Elastic Compute Service (ECS)

Alibaba Cloud's ECS product was used to host the project on the cloud. An Ubuntu Instance was launched along with the WordPress Image which was later on used to develop the website.

Domain Name System (DNS)

The domain name inmalaysia.cyou was also bought using Alibaba Cloud DNS which was later on assigned to the project.

About the Developer

The project was developed by a team of two fresh graduates, Evelyn Toh (Taylor's University) and Cherlynn Chew (Sunway University). Based on our experience in university, we have developed a keen interest in web design and development. Therefore, we decided to participate in the Alibaba Cloud Developer Initiative competition as it was a good opportunity to sharpen our development skills.
