Alibaba Cloud Workspace Windows clients and macOS clients support the full-screen and dual-screen modes. The dual-screen mode allows you to simultaneously run multiple tasks with fewer switches between tasks and in larger display windows. This improves your work efficiency. This topic describes how to enter the full-screen and dual-screen modes on a cloud computer from a Windows client of Alibaba Cloud Workspace V6.2.0.
Prerequisites
The cloud computer is connected.
Another monitor is correctly connected to your on-premises computer if you want to use the dual-screen mode.
Your client is updated to V6.2.0 or later for better user experience with the full-screen and dual-screen modes.
Full-screen mode
After you connect to a cloud computer, the cloud computer is displayed in a window by default. You can enter the full-screen mode. The following section describes how to enter and exit the full-screen mode.
Enter the full-screen mode
You can use one of the following methods to enter the full-screen mode:
After you connect to the cloud computer, maximize the display window.
Open the assistive ball of the cloud computer and click Fullscreen.
Exit the full-screen mode
Open the assistive ball of the cloud computer and click Exit Fullscreen.
Dual-screen mode
The dual-screen mode allows you to display your cloud computer on two monitors. This reduces the number of times you switch between tasks, enables you to display tasks in larger windows and more sections, and enlarges your work space. This also facilitates multitasking and improves your work efficiency. The following section describes how to enter and exit the dual-screen mode.
The dual-screen mode takes effect only on the current cloud computer.
By default, the dual-screen setting of your cloud computer is consistent with the dual-monitor setting of your on-premises computer. If you select Duplicate these displays in the Multiple displays section, the displays on the two monitors are the same. If you select Extend these displays in the Multiple displays section, the other monitor acts as a horizontal or vertical extension of the current monitor. You can connect another monitor to your on-premises computer to act as the duplicated monitor or extended monitor to maximize work space and improve work efficiency.
Enter the dual-screen mode
Before you enter the dual-screen mode, make sure that the two monitors are properly connected to your on-premises computer and work as expected. To enter the dual-screen mode, perform the following operations:
Open the assistive ball of the cloud computer and click Settings.
Choose . In the Cloud Computer Dual Displays field, select Yes.
Perform one of the following operations based on whether your cloud computer is in the full-screen mode:
Your cloud computer is in the full-screen mode: Exit and then re-enter the full-screen mode to extend your cloud computer across two monitors. For information about how to enter or exit the full-screen mode, see Full-screen mode.
Your cloud computer is not in the full-screen mode: Enter the full-screen mode. Your cloud computer is automatically duplicated by or extended to another monitor. For more information, see Full-screen mode.
Exit the dual-screen mode
If you connect two monitors to your on-premises computer and enter the dual-screen mode, your cloud computer is displayed on two monitors in full-screen mode by default. If you want to display the cloud computer on one monitor and your on-premises computer on the other monitor, we recommend that you exit the dual-screen mode. To exit the dual-screen mode, perform the following operations:
Open the assistive ball of the cloud computer and click Settings.
Choose . In the Cloud Computer Dual Displays field, select No.
Perform one of the following operations based on whether your cloud computer is in the full-screen mode:
Your cloud computer is in the full-screen mode: Exit and then re-enter the full-screen mode. Your cloud computer is displayed only on one of the monitors. For information about how to enter or exit the full-screen mode, see Full-screen mode.
