You can configure an escalation policy for alerts that remain uncleared for an extended period of time. After you specify an escalation policy in a notification policy, the system sends alert notifications to the specified contacts based on the specified notification methods. This ensures that the contacts take necessary actions to clear the alert. This topic describes how to configure an escalation policy for an application in the SAE console.
Prerequisites
Contacts are created.
Create an escalation policy
Log on to the SAE console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Applications. In the top navigation bar, select a region. Then, click the name of an application.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the Notification Policies section, find an existing notification policy, click the
icon, and then click Edit. In the Event Handling section, set the Processing Method parameter to Compress.
In the When an alert is triggered section, set the Method to Escalate Notifications parameter to Use an escalation policy. Then, click Add.
In the editor section, specify a name for the escalation policy in the Escalation Policy field, configure the parameters, and then click Save.
If an alert is not claimed or cleared within a specific period of time, SAE sends alert notifications to the specified contacts. For example, you can specify that alert notifications are escalated to the contacts when an alert remains unclaimed for 10 minutes.

After you configure the settings, click Save.
Manage an escalation policy
After you create an escalation policy, you can view, edit, refresh, copy, or delete the escalation policy in the Application Real-Time Monitoring Service (ARMS) console. For more information, see Create and manage an escalation policy.
