This topic describes how to change the specifications of an MSE cloud-native gateway instance.

Prerequisites

A cloud-native gateway has been created.

Background

MSE cloud-native gateways that use the Subscription or Pay-as-you-go billing method support upgrades and downgrades. For more information about billing for instance specification changes, see Billing.

Procedure

Important
  • Changing the gateway instance specifications takes about 4 to 5 minutes. During this period, you cannot manage the instance in the console.

  • For instances with two or more nodes, the system performs a rolling update and automatically synchronizes data to ensure a zero-downtime upgrade. For single-node instances, which are not highly available, the upgrade causes service interruptions.

  • Change specifications during off-peak hours to minimize business impact.

  1. Log on to the MSE console. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Cloud-native Gateway > Gateways.

  3. On the Gateways page, find the target gateway instance.

    Subscription

    1. In the Actions column, click More > Upgrade.

    2. On the Change Configuration page, select the Node Specifications and Number of Nodes.

The page displays the following prompt: A gateway serves as the traffic entry point for your system. We strongly recommend that you use at least two nodes because a single node does not ensure high availability. Refer to Cloud-Native Gateway Instance Performance Evaluation to select appropriate node specifications.

    Pay-as-you-go

    1. In the Actions column, click More > Upgrade/Downgrade.

    2. On the Change Configuration page, select the Instance Specifications and Node Count.

If you set the node count to 1, a "A single node does not ensure high availability" warning appears. Then, click Buy Now.

  4. Click Buy Now.

  5. Return to the Gateways page and click the instance ID of the target instance. On the Overview page of the instance, check the Engine specification and Number of Nodes to verify the changes.
