FAQ

Why is my instance locked?

An instance shows Locked when it is disabled:

  • Subscription instances: The instance expired and was immediately disabled.

  • Pay-as-you-go instances: The Alibaba Cloud account has an overdue payment, so all pay-as-you-go instances under it were immediately disabled.

How do I release a locked instance?

You cannot manually release a locked instance of either billing type. For subscription instances, you also cannot convert the billing method to pay-as-you-go or unsubscribe while the instance is locked. After 15 days, all resources are automatically released.

Does a locked instance incur charges?

No. An instance in the Locked state is disabled and does not incur charges.
