    Lindorm:Switch between billing methods

    Lindorm supports switching between pay-as-you-go and subscription billing methods in the console without service downtime.

    Prerequisites

    • - The target instance is in the Running state.

    • - Your Alibaba Cloud account has sufficient balance and no unpaid subscription orders.

      Note

      When you switch a pay-as-you-go instance to a subscription, the system generates an order for the switch. If this order remains unpaid, it prevents you from purchasing new instances or changing the billing method again. To resolve this, log on to the Billing Management console, navigate to Orders, and then pay for or cancel the pending order.

    • - To switch from pay-as-you-go to subscription: The instance uses the pay-as-you-go billing method and is of the Lindorm Lightweight, Lindorm, or Lindorm Tunnel Service type.

    • - To switch from subscription to pay-as-you-go: The instance uses the subscription billing method and is of the Lindorm V1, Lindorm, or Lindorm Tunnel Service (LTS) type. For more information, see Billing methods.

    Usage notes

    • - Instances are not released after switching billing methods. Ensure your account has a sufficient balance to avoid service suspension due to overdue payments.

    • - A subscription instance cannot be manually released. If you no longer need the instance, you can unsubscribe it from the console. For more information, see Unsubscribe from a subscription instance.

    • - When you switch from subscription to pay-as-you-go, you receive a refund based on the unsubscription rules. For more information, see Unsubscription rules for international sites. Only the remaining subscription balance and stored-value card balance are refunded. Coupons, vouchers, and renewals granted for ICP filings, errors, or server room migration cannot be refunded.

    Switch between billing methods

    Lindorm offers two flexible billing methods:

    • Pay-as-you-go: Charges based on real-time resource usage. Ideal for workloads with fluctuating demand.

    • Subscription: Prepaid billing with discounts. Ideal for stable, long-term workloads.

    Change the billing method of an instance from pay-as-you-go to subscription

    If you plan to use a pay-as-you-go instance for an extended period, you can change its billing method to subscription and select an appropriate subscription duration. This helps reduce your costs.

    Procedure

    1. Log on to the Lindorm console.

    2. In the upper-left corner of the page, select the region where the instance is deployed.

    3. On the Instances page, click Change to Subscription in the Actions column of the target instance.

    4. On the Switch to Subscription page, configure the billing parameters.

      1. Select a Duration and review the corresponding Expiration Date:.

      2. Read the terms of service and click Buy Now.

    5. On the Payment page, follow the prompts to complete the payment process.

    Switch the billing method from subscription to pay-as-you-go

    Lindorm allows you to switch the billing method of an instance from subscription to pay-as-you-go in the Lindorm console.

    Procedure

    1. Log on to the Lindorm console.

    2. In the upper-left corner of the page, select the region where the instance is deployed.

    3. On the Instances page, find the instance for which you want to change the billing method, and click image in the Actions column corresponding to the instance.

    4. In the drop-down list, select Switch to Pay-as-you-go.

    5. Read and select the Terms of Service and click Create Now.
