You can manually or automatically renew subscription Lindorm instances before expiration to extend the subscription period and prevent data loss.
Prerequisites
- The Lindorm instance must use the subscription billing method.
Notes
- The first auto-renewal deduction occurs before expiration (at 08:00 on the 9th day for China site; on the 3rd day for International site). Ensure your account has sufficient funds.
- If you manually renew an instance before auto-renewal is triggered, the system skips auto-renewal for that billing cycle.
- The auto-renewal feature takes effect the next day. If your instance expires tomorrow, renew it manually to avoid interruptions.
- If you change resource configurations before a renewal order takes effect, you can only unsubscribe and cannot cancel the renewal order.
Renewal policy
Billing
The renewal fee for a subscription instance is the same as the purchase price. Pay-as-you-go instances do not expire and do not require renewal. Make sure that your Alibaba Cloud account has a sufficient balance.
The purchase price varies depending on the instance configuration, such as the region, specifications, and storage class. For more information, see the purchase page.
Renewal methods
You can renew instances automatically or manually to prevent data loss.
Renewal method | Billing Time |
Auto-renewal (Recommended) | The first payment attempt occurs on the 3rd day before the instance expires. If the payment fails, the system retries at the following times until the payment is successful: the 1st day before expiration, the expiration day, and the 6th and 14th days after expiration. The instance is stopped immediately after it expires. If the payment still fails upon expiration, manually renew the instance right away to prevent data loss. Ensure that your Alibaba Cloud account has a sufficient balance to avoid renewal failure. |
Manual renewal | For manual payments, the system deducts the fee immediately. Renew the instance before it expires to prevent service interruptions and data release. For more information about the effects of instance expiration, see Overdue payments and expiration. |

Enable auto-renewal when you create an instance
When you enable auto-renewal for a Lindorm instance during purchase, the renewal period is one month for monthly subscriptions and one year for annual subscriptions.
