View basic information about an IoT Platform instance, such as its ID, type, resource group, and expiration time. Monitor real-time operational data, including online device count, message TPS, message forwarding TPS, time-series data storage IOPS, storage space, and CU usage. Track data trends and alert history to manage instance resources and alert rules. You can also set an alias for an Enterprise Edition instance to distinguish between application scenarios.
Background
For more information, see Instance overview.
View basic instance information
-
Log on to the IoT Platform console. In the upper-left corner of the page, select the region where your instance is located.
-
On the Overview tab, click the target instance to go to the Instance Details page. Here, you can view an overview of the instance, including its basic information, number of online devices, real-time running data, and resource specifications.
The top of the page displays four information cards: Basic Instance Information (including instance ID, alias, type/environment, expiration time, and resource group ID), Instance Device Count (where you can view device usage and upgrade specifications), Data Services (for CU usage and offline storage space), and LinkVisual. The lower section of the page contains the Monitoring Statistics and Alert Rules tabs. The Real-time Running Data section on the Monitoring Statistics tab includes the Communication, Data Services, OTA Upgrade, and High-Precision Second-Level Monitoring subtabs.
Set an alias
Public instances do not support aliases.
By default, the instance ID is used as the alias. You can change the alias for an Enterprise Edition instance on the Instance Details page:
-
In the Basic Instance Information section, click Edit.
-
In the Edit Instance Information dialog box, enter an alias.
An alias can contain Chinese characters, letters, digits, underscores (_), and hyphens (-). It can be up to 40 characters long. A Chinese character is counted as one character.
You can also modify the Instance Environment in this dialog box. For more information, see Modify the environment tag of an Enterprise Edition instance.
-
Click Save.
View available instance resources
On the Instance Details page, go to the Real-time Running Data section on the Monitoring Statistics tab. Click a subtab to view the resource usage of the instance.
The Real-time Running Data section collects statistics every minute for all online devices across different features. The data items vary by instance type, as listed in the following table. For details on how online devices are counted, see Real-time Online Device Count and Online Device Count in the table.
-
Data on the High-Precision Second-Level Monitoring tab is collected and displayed only after you enable the Second-level Monitoring switch. For more information, see Enable high-precision second-level monitoring.
-
For statistics under Communication and Data Services, you can specify a time range from a minimum of 1 hour to a maximum of 7 days.
-
For statistics under High-Precision Second-Level Monitoring, you can specify a time range from a minimum of 10 minutes to a maximum of 1 day.
-
For a public instance, only data for Communication and High-Precision Second-Level Monitoring is displayed.

View over-quota warnings
-
For an Enterprise Edition instance, if the required resources exceed the specification quota, an alert icon appears in the upper-right corner of the Instance Details page. You can view details or upgrade the specifications.
Click Upgrade in the corresponding section to purchase a higher specification for the item. For more information about specifications, see Purchase an Enterprise Edition instance.
The alert panel lists the specific items that have exceeded their quota, such as Real-time Online Device Count, Real-time Upstream and Downstream Message TPS, Real-time Message Forwarding TPS, Real-time Video Public Bandwidth Consumption, and Real-time Video Storage Consumption. View and Upgrade options are provided for each item.
-
For a new public instance, if the required resources exceed the quota, you must upgrade the public instance to an Enterprise Edition instance. For more information, see Upgrade a new public instance to an Enterprise Edition instance.
-
For a legacy public instance, if the usage of any resource reaches 90% of its limit, the console prompts you to migrate the public instance to an Enterprise Edition instance. For more information, see Migrate a legacy public instance.
You can also configure alert rules for instance resource usage to promptly identify and address resource shortages.
-
For an Enterprise Edition instance, on the Instance Details page, click the Alert Rules tab to set threshold-based alert rules based on your business needs. For more information, see Configure alert rules for an instance.
-
For a legacy public instance, you must go to the page to create specific alert rules. For more information, see Configure threshold-based alert rules.
View CU usage details
Data services, O&M statistics, and device diagnostics consume Data Processing Units (CUs). View CU usage for these services on the Instance Details page.
-
On the Instance Details page, view the CU usage.
The Data Services card shows the current CU usage (used amount and total quota) and the percentage of offline storage space used. You can click Upgrade in the upper-right corner to purchase more CUs, or click Usage Details to view a detailed breakdown of CU consumption by feature.
-
Click Usage Details on the Data Services card.
-
In the CU Usage Details panel, view the following information:
-
Specifications and usage information for devices and CUs under the current instance.
-
For O&M statistics services: the status (enabled/disabled), number of running tasks, activation time, and CU consumption for device, working condition, and event statistics. For more information, see Enable and disable O&M statistics.
-
For device diagnostics services: the status, number of running tasks, activation time, and CU consumption for diagnostic metrics, smart baselines, offline analysis, and diagnostic analysis. For more information, see Enable and disable device diagnostics.
-
For data services: the status, number of running tasks, activation time, and CU consumption for analysis and insights, data parsing, metric calculation, and data backup. For more information, see Data services.
NoteIf the instance's CU specification is insufficient for the total CU consumption of all enabled features, a notification appears above the feature list. The list also indicates that the related services are disabled.
-
You can configure monitoring alerts for CU usage to receive timely notifications when you need to upgrade your CU specification. This ensures the normal operation of enabled device diagnostics, O&M statistics, and data services. For more information, see Configure an alert rule (monitoring metric is Data Processing Unit (CU)).
-
You can click Upgrade next to the CU specification to purchase more CUs. For more information about specifications, see Purchase an Enterprise Edition instance.
