    IoT Platform:Enable or disable device diagnostics

    Enable or disable device diagnostics features, including diagnostic metric, intelligent baseline, offline analysis, and diagnostic analysis, and view the status and data processing unit (CU) usage of each feature.

    Prerequisites

    You have purchased an Enterprise Edition instance. For more information, see Purchase an Enterprise Edition instance.

    Usage

    The free trial for device diagnostics ended on August 30, 2023. For both newly purchased Enterprise Edition instances and existing instances where device diagnostics was previously enabled, all diagnostic features are disabled by default. You must manually enable these features before use. You can also disable active diagnostic features based on your business needs.

    The device diagnostics service supports diagnostic metric, intelligent baseline, offline analysis, and diagnostic analysis. Enabling these features consumes data processing units (CUs). For more information about billing, see Billable items.

    Enable device diagnostics

    1. Log on to the IoT Platform console.

    2. In the upper-left corner of the console, select the region where your target Enterprise Edition instance is located. Then, on the Overview page, find your instance and click its card.

    3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Maintenance > Device Diagnostics.

    4. On the Device Diagnostics page, click the tab of the feature that you want to enable.

    5. At the top of the tab, click Enable Now.

    6. In the dialog box that appears, click Confirm.

      Important

      If your instance's CU specifications are insufficient, a dialog box prompts you to upgrade the instance. Follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade the CU specifications. For more information about specifications, see Purchase an Enterprise Edition instance.

      After the upgrade is complete, repeat the steps above to enable the service.

    Disable device diagnostics

    To disable an active device diagnostics feature, perform the following steps. The change takes effect immediately, and the system stops consuming CUs for the feature.

    1. On the Device Diagnostics page, click the tab of the feature that you want to disable.

    2. At the top of the tab, click Disable Now.

    3. In the dialog box that appears, click Confirm.

    View CU usage details

    Data services, O&M statistics, and device diagnostics consume Data Processing Units (CUs). View CU usage for these services on the Instance Details page.

    1. On the Instance Details page, view the CU usage.

      The Data Services card shows the current CU usage (used amount and total quota) and the percentage of offline storage space used. You can click Upgrade in the upper-right corner to purchase more CUs, or click Usage Details to view a detailed breakdown of CU consumption by feature.

    2. Click Usage Details on the Data Services card.

    3. In the CU Usage Details panel, view the following information:

      • Specifications and usage information for devices and CUs under the current instance.

      • For O&M statistics services: the status (enabled/disabled), number of running tasks, activation time, and CU consumption for device, working condition, and event statistics. For more information, see Enable and disable O&M statistics.

      • For device diagnostics services: the status, number of running tasks, activation time, and CU consumption for diagnostic metrics, smart baselines, offline analysis, and diagnostic analysis. For more information, see Enable and disable device diagnostics.

      • For data services: the status, number of running tasks, activation time, and CU consumption for analysis and insights, data parsing, metric calculation, and data backup. For more information, see Data services.

      Note

      If the instance's CU specification is insufficient for the total CU consumption of all enabled features, a notification appears above the feature list. The list also indicates that the related services are disabled.
