IoT Platform data services leverage the unique characteristics of IoT data to offer a suite of capabilities, including extensive data storage and backup, metric management, report analysis, and comprehensive data management. These services enable enterprise users to effortlessly extract value from IoT data.

Limits

Data services features are fully supported by Standard and Exclusive Enterprise Edition instances in the China (Shanghai), China (Beijing), China (Shenzhen), Singapore, and US (Virginia) regions.
In the Japan (Tokyo), Germany (Frankfurt), and US (Silicon Valley) regions, Standard and Exclusive Enterprise Edition instances support only the time series data storage feature of data services.

Feature	Description
Data source	Data sources for data services can be configured to facilitate further analysis and processing of their data. Available data sources include: Device data source: Enables data backup for all or specified products under Enterprise Edition instances. Add a Cloud Service Data Source: Synchronizes file data in OSS Buckets to custom storage tables within IoT Platform data services. API data source: Imports external data into custom storage tables within IoT Platform data services. Upload local file: Imports local file data into custom storage tables within IoT Platform data services. The data retrieval feature allows for accessing historical data submitted by devices of a product. For more details, see Retrieve device data.
Data parsing	Data parsing preprocesses topic data from IoT Platform instances and data from API data sources, facilitating further processing.
Data storage	Time series storage: Stores time series data from devices, including Thing Specification Language (TSL) data and custom topic data configured with time series storage rules.
Data storage	Offline storage: Enables data storage as tables, including: Platform system table: Displays basic information data of products, devices, and device groups created in the IoT Platform console. Time series/snapshot table: Shows reported TSL property data from the product dimension. Custom storage table: Views data tables processed by data pipelines.
SQL analysis	SQL analysis enables data analysis from devices to IoT Platform or association analysis on industry and business data from external sources. It allows for writing SQL statements, configuring policies for query execution, and scheduling data generation as needed.
Data metrics	Data metrics centralize the display of metric data by metric and domain, allowing for comprehensive management and efficient identification of required IoT Platform data. This facilitates further business operations. Metrics available include: Preset metric table: Provides a system-generated default metric table to help understand device operating status and make informed decisions. Custom metrics: Allows creation of custom metrics based on business needs, using originally defined metrics for data statistics.
Data API	Data API provides basic and custom service API operations. These operations can be integrated with enterprise servers, connecting them to IoT Platform at the system level.

Overview of using data services

Log on to the IoT Platform console.
In the Instance Overview tab, single click the instance name (for example, iot-cn-z2q1***) to navigate to the instance page.
From the left-side navigation pane, select Data Services > Overview.
Click on the Scenario Guide tab, and then click on the desired scenario card to access the configuration guide.
