Internet Shared Bandwidth:Create and manage Internet Shared Bandwidth

Last Updated:May 13, 2025

Internet Shared Bandwidth supports bandwidth sharing and reuse within one region. After you create an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, you can associate Elastic IP Addresses (EIPs) with the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance to share the bandwidth.

Internet Shared Bandwidth line types

Internet Shared Bandwidth instances support two line types: BGP (Multi-ISP) and BGP (Multi-ISP) PRO. The following table describes the differences.

China (Hong Kong), Japan (Tokyo), Singapore, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Philippines (Manila), Indonesia (Jakarta), and Thailand (Bangkok)

Note

In Japan (Tokyo), Singapore, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Philippines (Manila), Indonesia (Jakarta), and Thailand (Bangkok), BGP (Multi-ISP) PRO Internet Shared Bandwidth instances support only the pay-as-you-go billing method.

Create an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance

  1. Log on to the Internet Shared Bandwidth console.

  2. On the Internet Shared Bandwidth page, click Purchase Internet Shared Bandwidth.

  3. On the buy page, configure the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance based on the following information, click Buy Now, and then complete the payment.

    Parameter

    Description

    Region

Select the region where you want to create the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.

Make sure that the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance is created in the same region as the EIPs that you want to associate with the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.

    Line Type

Select a line type for the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.

    • BGP (Multi-ISP): You can associate only EIPs of BGP (Multi-ISP) with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance of BGP (Multi-ISP).

    • BGP (Multi-ISP) PRO: You can associate only EIPs of BGP (Multi-ISP) PRO with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance of BGP (Multi-ISP) PRO.

      Note

Currently, only China (Hong Kong), Japan (Tokyo), Singapore, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Philippines (Manila), Indonesia (Jakarta), and Thailand (Bangkok) support Internet Shared Bandwidth instances of BGP (Multi-ISP) PRO.

    Billing Method

Select a billing method for the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.

    • If Line Type is set to BGP (Multi-ISP), only Pay-by-data-transfer is supported.

    • If Line Type is set to BGP (Multi-ISP) PRO, Pay-by-bandwidth is used by default.

    Bandwidth

Specify a maximum bandwidth value. Unit: Mbit/s.

    Name

Enter a name for the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.

    Resource Group

Select the resource group to which the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance belongs.

    Quantity

Specify the number of Internet Shared Bandwidth instances that you want to purchase.

Note

After the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance is created, you can associate EIPs with the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance. This way, the EIPs share the bandwidth of the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance to reduce bandwidth costs.

Associate EIPs with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance

Limits

The EIPs must meet the following requirements:

  • The EIPs use the pay-as-you-go billing method.

  • The EIPs and the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance belong to the same region.

  • The line types of the EIPs are the same as the line type of the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.

After you associate EIPs with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance:

  • Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances, Server Load Balancer (SLB) instances, and NAT gateways with which the EIPs are associated share the bandwidth of the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.

  • The previous maximum bandwidth of the EIPs becomes invalid. The maximum bandwidth of the EIPs equals the maximum bandwidth of the associated Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.

  • The previous billing method of the EIPs becomes invalid. You are no longer charged data transfer fees for the EIPs.

  • The configuration fees for the EIPs remain unchanged. For more information, see Billing overview.

Note

You can associate at most 100 EIPs with each Internet Shared Bandwidth instance. To associate more EIPs with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, request a quota increase. For more information, see Manage Internet Shared Bandwidth quotas.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Internet Shared Bandwidth console.

  2. In the top menu bar, select the region where the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance is deployed.

  3. On the Internet Shared Bandwidth page, find the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, and then click Actions Add IP Address in the column.

  4. In the Add IP Address dialog box, add EIPs based on the following information, and then click OK.

    • If you do not have available EIPs in the region, click Buy EIP and add to Bandwidth Package, and then enter the number of EIPs that you want to purchase.

The system automatically creates the specified number of pay-as-you-go EIPs that use the pay-by-data-transfer metering method and associates the EIPs with the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance. You can purchase up to 50 EIPs at a time.

    • If you have available EIPs in the region, click Select from EIP List, and then select the EIPs that you want to associate with the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.

Manage associated EIPs

Associate EIPs with cloud resources

After you associate EIPs with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, you can associate the EIPs with cloud resources to centrally manage Internet traffic and use bandwidth at the Gbit/s level.

  1. Log on to the Internet Shared Bandwidth console.

  2. In the top menu bar, select the region where the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance is deployed.

  3. On the Internet Shared Bandwidth page, find the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, and then click Manage in the Actions column.

  4. On the IP Management for Internet Shared Bandwidth tab, find the EIP, and then click Bind in the Actions column.

  5. In the Associate EIP with Resource dialog box, select the instance type and instance ID, and then click OK.

Disassociate EIPs from cloud resources

If your cloud resources no longer need to communicate with the Internet, you can disassociate the EIPs from the cloud resources.

  4. In the IP Management for Internet Shared Bandwidth tab, find the target EIP, and in the Actions column, click 更多2.png > Unbind.

  5. In the Unbind Elastic IP Address dialog box, click OK.

Disassociate EIPs from an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance

You can disassociate EIPs from an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance. After an EIP is disassociated from an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, the EIP uses the maximum bandwidth and billing method that were used before the EIP was associated with the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.
