Billable items

Billing methods
- Subscription is a billing method that allows you to use resources only after you pay for them. You are charged for the resources based on the subscription duration. For more information, see Subscription.
- Pay-as-you-go is a billing method that allows you to use resources before you pay for them. You are charged for the resources every hour on the hour. For more information, see Pay-as-you-go.
Billing-related operations
| Operation | Description |
| Billing method switching | If the billing method of your Elasticsearch or Logstash cluster cannot meet your business requirements, you can switch the billing method. For more information, see Change the billing method of a cluster from pay-as-you-go to subscription and Switch the billing method of a cluster from subscription to pay-as-you-go. |
| Handling of overdue payments | If you have an overdue payment, the system sends you a notification to remind you to top up your account. If you do not top up your account within a specific period, the system suspends or releases your cluster. For more information, see Overdue payments. |
| Renewal | Subscription Elasticsearch or Logstash clusters are automatically released after they expire. If you want to continue using the clusters, you can manually renew the clusters or enable auto-renewal for them before the system releases them. Otherwise, resources such as clusters and disks are automatically released, and the data that is stored in the clusters is permanently deleted. For more information, see Renew a cluster. |
| Refunding | If you no longer require your pay-as-you-go cluster, you can release or scale in the cluster based on your business requirements. If you no longer require your subscription cluster, you can request a refund for the cluster. For more information, see Refund policy. |
