Q: What are the differences between instance specifications?
A: For information about the differences between instance specifications, see Instance classes of data migration instances and Instance classes of data synchronization instances.
Q: Can I upgrade the specifications of a DTS instance?
Yes. For more information, see Upgrade the link specifications of an instance.
Q: Can I downgrade the specifications of a DTS instance?
Currently, only data synchronization instances support this feature. For more information, see Downgrade an instance class.
Q: Can a DTS task be downgraded to a specification lower than medium?
A: No.
Q: How long does it take to synchronize or migrate data?
A: The transmission performance of DTS is affected by various factors, including the internal performance of DTS, the load on the source and destination database instances, the volume of data to be transmitted, whether the DTS instance runs incremental tasks, and the network. Therefore, the time required for a DTS task cannot be estimated. If you have high performance requirements, we recommend that you select a specification with a higher performance limit. For more information about specifications, see Instance classes of data migration instances and Instance classes of data synchronization instances.
Q: How do I view the performance information of a data migration or data synchronization task?
A: For information about how to view performance, see View incremental data migration status and performance or View synchronization link status and performance.
Q: Why can't I find the specified DTS instance in the console?
Possible causes: If the specified DTS instance is a subscription instance, the instance has expired and been released.
The resource group of your account is incorrect. We recommend that you select All Resources.
The region of the instance is incorrect. Verify that the selected region is the region where the target instance resides.
The task type of the instance is incorrect. Verify that the current task list page matches the task type of the target instance. For example, a data synchronization instance appears only in the Data Synchronization Tasks list.
The instance is released due to expiration or overdue payments. After a DTS instance expires or has overdue payments, its data transmission tasks stop. If the payment is not completed within 7 days, the system releases and deletes the instance. For more information, see Expiration and overdue payments.
