    Dataphin:View and manage my accessible assets

    The My Accessible Assets page displays production assets you can query and assets whose permissions expired within 90 days. You can create analysis tasks, preview data, renew permissions, or remove expired entries.

    Prerequisites

    • Purchased the Asset Operations and asset consumption value-added services, and enabled the asset catalog and asset consumption features for the current tenant.

    • To create asset consumption tasks, configure a dedicated compute source first. Analysis and consumption platform settings.

    Limitations

    • You cannot apply for consumption permissions for the following data source types: PolarDB-X (DRDS), SAP HANA, IBM DB2, and OceanBase (MySQL and Oracle tenant modes).

    • To consume table assets through BI channels, the cluster where the table's data source is located must have network connectivity with the Dataphin cluster.

    • Only tables from specific data sources support Notebook and Quick BI analysis tasks. Supported operations for different asset types. Quick BI analysis tasks are not supported for Hive CDH 5.x Hive 1.1.0 or MySQL 5.1.43 data sources.

    • Assets that you can access automatically based on your role (such as Project Administrator) do not appear in the accessible assets list.

    • Only a standalone deployment of the Quick BI application system, version V5.5.1_feature_2509, supports consuming AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL data tables.

    Permissions

    Super administrators, operations administrators, and custom global roles with the Consumption-Consumption Channel Management permission can edit auto-update settings.

    Entry points

    You can access the My Accessible Assets list in two ways.

    Method 1:

    1. On the Dataphin homepage, choose Assets > Asset Consumption from the top menu bar.

    2. In the navigation pane on the left, click My Accessible Assets to open the asset list page.

    Method 2:

    1. Click your profile picture in the upper-right corner of the Dataphin console, and then click Personal Data Center.

    2. In the navigation pane on the left, click My Accessible Assets to open the list page under Asset Consumption.

    The list shows assets you have data query permissions for and assets whose permissions expired within 90 days. You can create analysis tasks or renew permissions for expiring or expired assets.

    ① Filter and search

    Search assets by name or filter by asset source, expiration status, and expiration time.

    • Expiration status: Select assets that are Not Expired, Expiring within 7 Days, or Expired (within 90 days).

    • Expiration time: Filters by the nearest permission expiration date for any field in the table.

    ② Function area

    • View application records: View permission application records for asset consumption. View asset application records.

    • Auto-update settings: Requires a configured consumption channel. Configure automatic dataset updates for application systems (currently Quick BI only). Auto-update settings.

    • View all assets: Opens the asset catalog (requires the asset catalog feature and viewing permissions).

    ③ Asset list

    Shows asset name, listing status (requires asset catalog), source, directory, tags, and nearest field expiration date.

    • Nearly expired assets: A purple icon appears when field permissions expire within 7 days. Click Renew in the tooltip to extend permissions.

    • Expired assets: A yellow icon appears when all field permissions have expired. Reapply for permissions or remove the asset from the list.

    Available operations depend on listing status and asset source. Supported operations for different asset types.

    • Listed assets: New/View Quick BI Dashboard, New/View Quick BI Self-Service Data Retrieval, New/View Quick BI Spreadsheet, Analyze in Notebook, Renew, Apply for More Permissions, View application records, View asset details, View dataset definition.

    • Unlisted assets (expired): Apply for Permissions, View asset details.

    • Unlisted assets (deleted): Remove.

    Supported operations:

    • View Quick BI Dashboard/Self-Service Data Retrieval/Spreadsheet: Requires data consumption enabled on the manually listed table asset. Click View to open the My BI Analysis drawer showing BI tasks using this asset as a dataset. My BI Analysis.

    • New Quick BI Dashboard/Self-Service Data Retrieval/Spreadsheet: Requires data consumption enabled on the manually listed table asset. Quickly create BI analysis tasks. My BI Analysis.

    • Analyze in Notebook: Requires data consumption enabled on the manually listed table asset. Opens a Notebook page and creates a corresponding task. Create a Notebook.

    • Renew: Extend the validity period for a table or its fields. In the Renew Permissions dialog box, select a Valid Until date, enter a Reason for renewal, and click OK.

      Note

      When you renew field-level permissions, fields for which permissions cannot be requested are automatically ignored.

    • Apply for Permissions/Apply for More Permissions: Reapply for expired asset permissions or request access to additional fields. Apply for consumption permissions.

    • View application records: Opens the asset permission application records. View asset application records.

    • View asset details: Opens the asset details page in the asset catalog or inventory. Available only if the asset metadata has been collected into the metadata center.

    • View dataset definition: View the dataset statement in the corresponding system (currently Quick BI only). Copy the statement to an ad hoc query or analysis page to query data.

      Note

      For table assets from MySQL, Oracle, and Hive data sources, you can view the dataset definition if asset consumption is enabled.

    • Remove: Removes deleted assets from the list.

    Auto-update settings

    1. On the My Accessible Assets page, click Auto-update Settings in the upper-right corner to open the Auto-update Settings dialog box.

    2. In the Auto-update Settings dialog box, configure the parameters.

      Auto-update Quick BI datasets: Disabled by default. When enabled, Dataphin checks whether the dataset table schema (DDL) changed each time you create an analysis task. If changed, Dataphin updates the corresponding Quick BI dataset automatically.

      Note

      If you modified a dataset definition or created a joined dataset in Quick BI, do not enable auto-update. It may overwrite your Quick BI changes.

    3. Click OK to save the settings.

    Asset application records

    1. On the My Accessible Assets page, click View Application Records in the upper-right corner, or click the image icon in the Actions column and select View Application Records.

    2. Search by asset name or filter by application status.

      View approval process

      Click the View Approval Process icon to view approval progress in the Task Center.

      Withdraw

      Withdraw an application that is in Pending approval state.
