Dataphin:View and manage my active assets

Last Updated:Sep 30, 2025

My Active page serves as your personal asset consumption portal, displaying the database permissions you currently hold and the asset objects in the production environment with permissions expiring within 90 days. You can swiftly create analysis tasks and data previews for objects with permissions. This topic explains how to view and manage your active assets.

Prerequisites

  • Purchase asset operation and asset consumption value-added services, ensuring the current tenant has enabled the asset directory and asset consumption features.

  • To create asset consumption tasks, configure a dedicated computing source for task execution beforehand to prevent failure when executing consumption task query statements. For more information, see analysis consumption platform settings.

Limits

  • When the data source type is PolarDB-X (DRDS), SAP HANA, IBM DB2, or OceanBase (MySQL, Oracle tenant mode), applying for consumption permissions is not supported.

  • The cluster where the data source of the table is located must be networked with the Dataphin cluster to consume the corresponding table in the BI channel.

  • Only certain data source tables support the creation of Notebook and Quick BI analysis tasks. For a list of supported data sources, see operations supported by different types of assets. Specifically, creating Quick BI analysis tasks is not supported for CDH5.x Hive 1.1.0 version or MySQL 5.1.43 version data sources.

  • Objects that automatically receive permissions due to roles, such as project administrators, are not listed among your active objects.

  • Only on-premises deployments of Quick BI V5.5.1_feature_2509 support consuming data from AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL tables.

Permission description

Super administrators, operation administrators, and custom global roles with Consumption-Consumption Channel Management permissions can edit automatic update configurations.

My active assets entry

There are two ways to access the my active asset list.

Entry One:

  1. On the Dataphin home page, select Asset > Asset Consumption from the top menu bar.

  2. Click My Active in the navigation pane on the left to enter the my active asset list page.

Entry Two:

  1. Click your profile picture in the upper right corner of the Dataphin console to open the user center and click Personal Data Center.

  2. Click My Active in the navigation pane on the left to navigate to the my active list page under Asset Consumption.

View my active assets

This displays all active asset objects for which you are the owner. In the my active list, you can find assets with consumption permissions (database permissions) and assets whose permissions expire within the next 90 days. You can quickly create analysis tasks for assets with permissions or renew operations for assets whose permissions have expired but are still required.

Area

Description

Filter and search

You can search by the name of the data asset, or you can filter precisely by asset source, expiration status, and expiration time.

  • Expiration status: Supports selecting assets that are not expired, expire within 7 days, or expired (within 90 days).

  • Expiration time: Supports querying the latest expiration time of fields with permissions included in the table.

Function area

  • View Application Records: You can view the application records of asset consumption permissions (database permissions). For more information, see view application records of assets.

  • Automatic Update Configuration: This operation is supported only after configuring the consumption channel. It supports configuring automatic updates of datasets under different application systems separately. Currently, only the Quick BI application system is supported. For more information, see automatic update configuration.

  • View All Assets: If you have enabled the asset directory feature and have view permissions for this menu, you can click to quickly jump to the directory to view all assets.

Asset list

It displays the name of the asset, listing status (requires enabling the asset directory feature), asset source, belonging directory, asset tag, and the latest expiration date information of fields.

  • Assets nearing expiration: If an asset has fields that expire within 7 days, a purple icon prompt will be displayed after the name. You can click Renewal in the prompt to apply, avoiding the impact of expired permissions on already created analysis tasks.

  • Expired assets: If all applied field permissions of an asset have expired, a yellow icon prompt will be displayed after the name. You can reapply for consumption permissions or remove the asset from the current list.

Operation area

The operations supported by assets with different listing statuses are as follows:

  • Listed assets: Create/view Quick BI dashboard, create/view Quick BI Downloads, create/view Quick BI workbook, go to Notebook analysis, renewal, apply for more permissions, view application records, view asset details, view dataset definition.

  • Unlisted assets (expired): Apply for permissions, view asset details.

  • Unlisted assets (deleted): Remove.

The operations supported by assets from different sources vary. For more information, see operations supported by different types of assets.

The operations supported by assets are as follows:

  • View Quick BI Dashboard/Downloads/workbook: Click View to open the My BI analysis drawer and view the BI analysis tasks created with the current asset as the dataset. For more information, see My BI analysis.

  • Create Quick BI Dashboard/Downloads/workbook: You can quickly create BI analysis tasks. For configuration details, see My BI analysis.

  • Go To Notebook Analysis: Click to jump to the Notebook page and automatically create the corresponding Notebook task. For more information, see create Notebook.

  • Renewal: Extend the usage date for tables or fields. In the Renewal Permissions dialog box, select Valid Until and fill in the Renewal Reason, then click Confirm.

    Note

When the renewal scope is field-level permissions, fields that cannot apply for permissions will be automatically ignored.

  • Apply For Permissions/Apply For More Permissions: Reapply for consumption permissions for expired assets or apply for more permissions for other fields of assets with existing permissions. For more information, see apply for consumption permissions.

  • View Application Records: Click to open the asset permission application records. For more information, see view application records of assets.

  • View Asset Details: If the current asset has not been collected into the Metadata Center, viewing details is not supported. If it has been collected, you can click to quickly jump to the asset directory or asset checklist to view more details on the details page of the object.

  • View Dataset Definition: Click to view the dataset statement of the asset in the corresponding system (currently only supports the Quick BI application system). You can copy the statement to the ad hoc query or analysis page with one click to query data.

    Note

When the data source is a MySQL, Oracle, or Hive data source table object, and asset consumption is enabled, viewing the dataset definition is supported.

  • Remove: Supports removing deleted assets from the list.

Automatic update configuration

  1. On the My Active page, click the Automatic Update Configuration button in the upper right corner to open the Automatic Update Configuration dialog box.

  2. In the Automatic Update Configuration dialog box, set the parameters.

Quick BI Dataset Automatic Update is disabled by default. Once enabled, when creating analysis tasks in Dataphin, the system will automatically verify if the dataset table structure (DDL) has changed. If changes are detected, it will trigger an automatic update of the corresponding dataset in Quick BI, reducing manual configuration efforts and ensuring dataset consistency between Dataphin and Quick BI.

    Note

If you have modified the dataset definition or created an associated dataset in Quick BI, enabling automatic updates is not recommended as it may overwrite changes made in Quick BI.

  3. Click Confirm to finalize the automatic update configuration.

View application records of assets

  1. On the My Active page, click the View Application Records button in the upper right corner or click the image icon in the operation column of the target asset and select View Application Records to review the application status of the current asset.

  2. Search for the desired asset by name, or filter by application status.

  3. Perform various operations on the target asset.

    Operation

    Description

    View Approval Process

You can click the View approval process icon to jump to the Task Center to view the approval progress of the asset.

    Revoke

Supports revoking assets that are under approval.
