Dataphin:Create and manage dashboards

Last Updated:Sep 30, 2025

As an owner, you can view your published analytical reports in the dashboard consumption channel. This topic describes how to create and manage Quick BI dashboards.

Prerequisites

  • The asset consumption value-added service has been purchased and the asset consumption module is enabled for the current tenant.

  • Before you can use the dashboard feature, you must initialize the consumption channel. For more information, see Create and manage consumption channels.

Limits

  • To consume a table in the BI channel, the data source cluster must have network connectivity with the Dataphin cluster.

  • You cannot create Quick BI analysis tasks if the Hive data source is CDH 5.x Hive 1.1.0 or the MySQL data source is MySQL 5.1.43.

  • If full table scans are disabled in Dataphin, you must use a set statement to allow them when you create a Dataphin data source in Quick BI. This prevents SQL runtime errors. The statement is: set oneservice.allow.full.scan=true.

  • If a dashboard uses a composite dataset, only the snapshot value of the dataset selected on the save page is collected. You cannot collect all datasets used in the dashboard.

  • Only on-premises deployments of Quick BI V5.5.1_feature_2509 can consume data from AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL tables.

Create a dashboard

  1. On the Dataphin home page, choose Asset > Asset Consumption from the top menu bar.

  2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Consumption > My BI Analysis. On the My BI Analysis page, click the Quick BI Dashboard tab, and then click Create Dashboard to open the Create Quick BI Analysis dialog box.

  3. In the Create Quick BI Analysis dialog box, configure the parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Analysis Task Type

Click Expand Details for a detailed description.

    Associate Asset

Select the table assets for which you want to create analysis tasks. You can search for assets by name or filter them by source. You can select multiple assets.

    Workspace

If the selected consumption channel is configured with a default workspace and you have management permissions for that workspace, the system automatically fills in the default workspace configured for the consumption channel. If no default workspace is set or you do not have management permissions for that workspace, you need to select a workspace with management permissions. To create a workspace, see Create and Manage Workspaces.

    Dataset

If a dataset already exists for the selected asset in the chosen workspace, its name is displayed. If not, a dataset is automatically created before the analysis task. You can specify a name for the new dataset.

  4. Click OK to validate the configuration.

  5. After the configuration is validated, the creation flow for an analysis task starts (create data source, create dataset, create Quick BI dashboard). You are then automatically redirected to the dashboard creation page on the Quick BI platform for further configuration. For more information, see Create a Dashboard.

View dashboards

  1. The Quick BI Dashboard tab lists the dashboards that you own and have published, which allows for centralized viewing and quick access. The list includes information such as the dashboard name, publication status, and BI workspace.

  2. You can search for a dashboard by its name or filter dashboards by publication status or workspace.

  3. In the Operations column for the target dashboard, you can perform the following actions:

    Feature

    Description

    View

You can view information about a task only if it is in the Published or Saved but not published status. When you click the task, you are redirected to the Quick BI platform to view the dashboard task. For more information, see Dashboard.

    Edit

Clicking redirects you to the Quick BI platform, where you can modify the dashboard's theme, fields, style, and more. For more information, see Manage Dashboards.
