    Dataphin:Consumption channel management

    You can manage consumption channels for various application systems, currently including Quick BI, or perform operations such as setting sorting preferences. This topic explains how to manage consumption channels.

    Prerequisites

    • To use BI-related consumption channels, you must purchase Quick BI Standard version 5.3.2 or higher.

    • First, create and enable an application system for asset consumption in the Management Center > Datasource Management > Application System section before managing consumption channels. For more information, see creating and managing application systems.

    Limits

    • Currently, only one application system can be enabled for consumption at a time.

    • The cluster hosting the data source of the table must be networked with the Dataphin cluster to enable consumption of the corresponding table in the BI channel.

    • Creating Quick BI analysis tasks is not supported if the Hive data source is CDH5.x Hive 1.1.0 or the MySQL data source is MySQL 5.1.43.

    Permission description

    Super administrators, operation administrators, and custom global roles with Consumption- Consumption Channel Management permissions can enable or disable consumption channels and set their sorting order.

    Procedure

    1. On the Dataphin home page, navigate to the top menu bar and select Asset > Asset Consumption.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, select Consumption Configuration > Consumption Channel Management. The Consumption Tool page will display the names of application systems/consumption channels, channel contacts, descriptions, recent update times, and their enabled or disabled status for asset consumption.

    3. Search for consumption channels using the name keyword.

    4. Perform the following operations for the desired consumption channel:

      • For Asset Consumption: Enabling this option allows you to create corresponding analysis tasks in My BI Analysis. If disabled, creating analysis tasks is not supported.

        Note

        Disabling the last consumption channel under an application system will automatically disable the system's status for asset consumption. You can re-enable it in the Management Center > Datasource Management > Application System.

      • Sorting: This feature is available only when For Asset Consumption is enabled. Click Sort in the operation column. In the Consumption Channel Sorting dialog box, drag to sort the enabled consumption channels under the application system. Click OK to confirm the sorting.

        The sorting order will determine the default display sequence for consumption channels in the Application System, My Available list, My BI Analysis list, and Asset Directory.

    What to do next
