Billing method
DSC supports the subscription payment model. A subscription is an upfront billing method where you pay in advance for a specific period, such as one month or one year.

Billing rules
DSC provides data security features based on its editions. Each edition includes different default security capabilities. You can also purchase feature extensions for your instance. DSC is billed based on the selected edition, feature specifications, and subscription duration.
The billing cycle for a subscription resource corresponds to the subscription duration specified in the order (UTC+8). A billing cycle starts at the exact time the resource is activated or renewed and ends at 00:00:00 on the day after the expiration date.

DSC billing consists of default specification fees and value-added service fees. The following figure shows the billing components.

Log storage | DSC provides 50 GB of free log storage per month for every 1 TB of OSS protection and 200 GB for each database instance. For example: You purchase an Enterprise Edition instance. The Feature Extension Modules are 1 TB of Detection And Response - OSS Protection, 1 Detection And Response - Database Instance, 1 TB of DBAudit - OSS Protection, and 1 DBAudit - Database Instance. Including the Default Specifications for DBAudit and Detection and Response, your instance has 8 TB of OSS protection and 8 database instances. The free log storage is calculated as follows: 8 × 50 GB + 8 × 200 GB = 2,000 GB. |
Pricing
Premium, Enterprise, editions
The billable specifications for the Premium Edition, Enterprise Edition are the sum of the default specifications and value-added modules. Different editions provide different default specifications.
The total cost for DSC is the sum of the edition fee and the value-added module fee.
Important The features included in the default specifications are enabled by default. These features are available even if you do not purchase any feature extension modules.

Additional charges from related cloud products
After you add data assets to DSC, the fees for reading data from certain data assets and storing audit logs are charged to the account that owns the assets. These fees are billed by the corresponding cloud products. For more information, see Additional charges for cloud products connected to DSC.
Change instance specifications
If your purchased DSC edition and its feature specifications no longer meet your business needs, you can change the instance configuration, including the edition and feature specifications. You must pay the price difference for an upgrade. Downgrades are not supported. If you have special requirements, you can submit a ticket for assistance. However, refunds are not provided for downgrade orders within the same billing cycle. For more information, see Instance upgrade.
View bills
You can view the bills and usage details for DSC on the Billing Details page in the Expenses and Costs console. Check the Billing Details and Usage Records tabs to review your expenses. For more information, see Billing details.
Renew an instance
No extra fees are charged during the validity period of an instance. The service stops automatically upon expiration.
You should renew your instance before it expires to avoid disruptions to DSC security features. Failure to renew in time may lead to data breaches and financial losses.

Overdue payments
Your account has an overdue payment if your available credit, including your Alibaba Cloud account balance and coupons, is less than the amount of your outstanding bill.
For subscription DSC instances, you have already paid the resource fees upfront. Therefore, you can continue to use your existing subscription instances even if your account has an overdue payment. However, you cannot perform operations that incur new fees, such as purchasing new instances, upgrading instance configurations, or renewing instances.

You can receive a full refund for a newly purchased Data Security Center instance within five calendar days of placing the order. For more information, see Refund policy.
