    Bastionhost:Download and install Bastionhost Assistant

    This topic describes how to download and install Bastionhost Assistant.

    Note

    Your client must have public internet access to download the Bastionhost Assistant installer. In a private network environment, you can download the installer on a client with internet access and then copy the file to the client on the private network for installation.

    Download Bastionhost Assistant

    Bastionhost console (for RAM users)

    1. Log on to the Bastionhost console. In the top navigation bar, select the region where your Bastionhost instance is located.

    2. In the list of Bastionhost instances, find the target instance and click Manage.

    3. Download Bastionhost Assistant as follows:

      In the upper-right corner of the Assets > Host O&M page, click Bastionhost Assistant. Select Windows, macOS(arm64), or macOS(amd64) based on your operating system.

    O&M portal (for non-RAM users)

    1. Log on to the Bastionhost O&M portal. For more information, see Log on to the O&M portal.

    2. Download Bastionhost Assistant as follows:

      The Bastionhost Assistant drop-down menu contains three options: Windows, macOS(arm64), and macOS(amd64).

    Install Bastionhost Assistant

    Windows

    1. Double-click the Bastionhost Assistant file with the .exe extension.

      The file is named OperationSSOSetup-1.0.0.4-windows-386.exe.

    2. In the dialog box that appears, click Run Anyway and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

      Note

      Windows supports silent installation. To do this, open Command Prompt as an administrator, navigate to the folder where the installer is located, and run the command: <InstallerName.exe /S>. Note that the /S flag is case-sensitive and must be uppercase.

    macOS

    Double-click the Bastionhost Assistant file with the .dmg extension to install it. After the installation is successful, you can configure the assistant on the O&M interface. For more information, see Host O&M and Database O&M.

    Important

    • If macOS displays an untrusted app message, go to Privacy & Security in System Settings, authorize the installation, and then run the installer again.

    • The Bastionhost Assistant on macOS may close unexpectedly or fail to open. This is expected behavior and does not affect its functionality. The assistant runs as a background process to launch third-party clients and does not require user interaction.
