Bastionhost:Database O&M

Last Updated:Mar 31, 2026

Bastionhost uses single sign-on (SSO) authentication to connect your local database client directly to an authorized database — no manual credential entry required. In this topic, you will:

  • Configure a local database client as your O&M device.

  • Connect to a database using either the Bastionhost console or the O&M portal.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

Step 1 of 2: Configure an O&M device

Tell Bastionhost which local client to launch when you initiate a database connection.

  1. Log on to the Bastionhost console and select the target region in the top navigation bar.

  2. In the Bastionhost list, find the target instance and click Manage.

  3. In the left navigation pane, choose Asset O&M > Host O&M.

  4. On the Database O&M page, click Device Settings.

  5. In the Device Settings panel, click the tab for the database type you want.

  6. Configure the following settings:

    SettingDescription
Session titleName for the O&M session. Windows only.
Local clientThe database client to launch.
Full pathFull path to the client. macOS only.

Step 2 of 2: Connect to a database
