This topic describes the billing editions, billing methods, and activation methods for ARMS Application Monitoring.
Billing editions
The Basic Edition is no longer available for activation, and beginning March 31, 2024, technical support is no longer provided for it. For more information, see [Billing changes] Discontinuation of Application Monitoring Basic Edition and Browser Monitoring Basic Edition activation.
Billing edition | Billing method | Billable item | Description | Details |
Basic Edition | Pay-as-you-go | Trace storage | After you activate the Basic Edition, ARMS provides a free quota for limited trace sampling with a 1-day storage period. The default free sampling policy is that for each API in your account, each agent samples the first request trace per minute and stores it for one day free of charge.
Expert Edition | Pay-as-you-go | Agent × Hour | The Application Monitoring Expert Edition offers two billing modes: pay-as-you-go and subscription resource plans. The Expert Edition does not bill for traces and metrics separately. Instead, it uses a unified billing method based on Agent × Hour. Note If you activate the ARMS Expert Edition for applications deployed in Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK) clusters, you receive a 50% discount on your bill. For more information, see How are discounted prices calculated?.
Subscription (resource plan) | Agent × Hour specifications |
You cannot activate individual features in ARMS separately. The Basic and Expert editions provide different features. For a detailed feature comparison, see Edition comparison.
Billing cycle
The ARMS billing cycle is one day. ARMS calculates the resource consumption of the previous day, starting at 00:00 on the current day. Bills are typically generated before 08:00 on the settlement day. After a bill is generated, the system automatically deducts the amount from your account balance if the balance is sufficient. You can view your bills on the Expenses and Costs page and check your resource consumption in the ARMS console. For more information, see Resource usage and bills.
Bill generation may be delayed. The actual time a bill is generated may vary.
