Alibaba Mail:Prerequisites for migrating from an Exchange mailbox

This topic describes the prerequisites for migration from an Exchange mailbox.

Note

The following screenshots from other email providers are for reference only. The actual interface may be different due to feature updates. Please refer to the interface of your email provider.

1. Ensure that the IMAP/POP service is enabled.

Method 1: In the Exchange 2013 admin console, go to recipients, select the accounts, and enable IMAP/POP3 in batch.

Method 2: Open the service for single account.

2. Ensure that the logon method and logon restrictions for the IMAP/POP service are correctly configured. In the Exchange admin console, navigate to Servers > MAIL (client access).

3. Go to IMAP4 and set the logon method to Plain text logon. Then, remove restrictions for TLS connections, unencrypted connections, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connections, and timeout settings.

After you complete the preceding operations, please check III. Migration Process to start the migration.

Note

Exchange migration supports using the delegated account, which means employee passwords are not required. You may use the password of the delegated account and select the first migration method in the mail admin console.
