Data Management:Refund policy

Last Updated:Mar 30, 2026

Stop paying for a Data Management (DMS) feature you no longer need by unsubscribing from it. Three DMS features are billable: Stable Change control mode, Security Collaboration control mode, and sensitive data protection. Each supports pay-as-you-go and subscription (monthly or annual) billing.

Before you begin

Review the impacts for each feature before proceeding.

Sensitive data protection

Unsubscribing from sensitive data protection for a database instance does not delete existing data classification information, such as configured data masking rules. Data classification information is deleted only when you disable the feature. For more information, see Disable the sensitive data protection feature.

Stable Change and Security Collaboration control modes

If you unsubscribe from Stable Change or Security Collaboration control mode, all database instances managed under that control mode are disabled in DMS. The instances themselves continue to run as expected, but they become inaccessible in DMS until you re-enable them. For more information, see Disable or enable database instances.

Billing after unsubscription

Pay-as-you-go resources are billed daily. If you unsubscribe today, a bill for today's usage is still generated. No bills are generated from tomorrow onward.

  4. Click Unsubscribe Resource in the Actions column for the instance ID you want to manage.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the unsubscription.

Method 2: Unsubscribe in the Expenses and Costs console

This method lets you unsubscribe from multiple resources at a time.

  2. Click Common Cloud Services, select dms from the Name drop-down list, and click Search.

  3. Set the Type parameter to Partial Refund.

  4. Click Unsubscribe Resource in the Actions column for the instance ID you want to manage.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the unsubscription.

If you cannot find the feature from which you want to unsubscribe when you use the preceding two methods, the billing method of the feature is not subscription. In this case, if you need to unsubscribe from the feature, submit a ticket to seek after-sales support.
