Project Introduction

This project aims to build a supply chain optimization platform for the trucking industry to eliminate/reduce weather hazards for reliable and safe trucking.

Solution and Project Value

A supply chain route optimization platform is a platform that gives a planned set of routes of a trucker for a year, compares the routing plan with historical climate data over that route and suggests the best suited route to avoid weather hazards over the route with minimal changes to the original plan. The following is the project value:

  1. The platform can protect truckers and cargo with weather and road condition alerts, and create geofences or virtual boundaries to limit weather impact on the trucker and cargo.
  2. Fleet managers can set more efficient routing to reduce weather delays, late deliveries and associated late fees.
  3. Trucks and trailers can be the ideal platform to deploy low-cost IoT sensors that provide observational data on the go. This data can be used to further improve/optimize.

This end-to-end service was used to create and deploy the application.
