Three primary schools in Hong Kong are working with QwenWork to explore how AI can support teachers, students, and school operations—turning emerging technology into practical tools for everyday education.
The Church of Christ in China Kei Tsz Primary School, Lok Sin Tong Leung Wong Wai Fong Memorial School, and Ma On Shan Ling Liang Primary School have signed a memorandum of understanding with QwenWork, becoming among the early primary schools in Hong Kong to bring AI into daily teaching and school operations.
The three schools will serve as AI pilot schools, exploring how AI can support lesson preparation, student creation, teaching and administrative work, and communication across the wider school community. The initiative began with a QwenWork education workshop for teachers in Hong Kong, giving educators hands-on experience with the tools they will use.
For schools, adopting AI is not simply a matter of giving teachers and students access to a new tool. It requires translating AI capabilities into practical, age-appropriate uses that fit naturally into teaching, learning, and school operations.
Four priorities shape the initiative:
Faster preparation for teachers:teachers work across text, images, audio, and video when preparing lessons. Turning these different formats into coherent, classroom-ready materials can take substantial time.
More opportunities for students to create:students need ways to move beyond passively consuming AI-generated content and instead use AI to build, experiment, and express their own ideas.
More efficient everyday workflows:routine teaching and administrative tasks can take time away from direct student support. Schools need AI assistance that can simplify everyday workflows and make learning information easier for educators to work with.
Adoption that starts with educators:sustainable adoption depends on teachers understanding what AI can do, where it fits, and how to apply it confidently in real classroom contexts.
The shared goal is to make AI a practical part of the school day rather than a one-off demonstration.
QwenWork brings multimodal creation, information processing, and application development into one AI workspace. Schools can turn teaching ideas and source materials into usable outputs—from lesson resources and visual content to websites, apps, games, and other digital projects—without moving between multiple tools.
Combined with professional development and hands-on workshops, this gives educators both the technology and practical experience to integrate AI into their everyday work.
Lesson preparation:teachers can use QwenWork to turn text, images, audio, and video into classroom-ready resources, making lesson preparation more efficient while presenting concepts in more visual and accessible ways. For example, language concepts and idioms can be transformed into illustrated scenes, helping younger students understand abstract ideas more intuitively.
Student creation:students can use AI and cloud tools to create their own websites, apps, games, and digital content. AI becomes a creative building tool, helping them move from an initial idea to something they can see, test, and share.
Teaching and administrative support:schools are also exploring how AI can support everyday teaching and administrative tasks, from reviewing assignments and preparing feedback to helping teachers better understand student performance and learning progress. By reducing time spent on routine work and making information easier to interpret, AI can give educators more time to focus on students and learning.
Communication across the school community:QwenWork can support communication in different parts of school life. Real-time translation can make multilingual school events more accessible, helping participants follow and engage regardless of language. It can also support communication between schools and families, making everyday information exchange more efficient and accessible.
The initiative begins with teacher enablement. Teachers will explore how AI can support their everyday work and identify practical applications in real classroom settings.
At The Church of Christ in China Kei Tsz Primary School, more than half of the teaching staff are expected to use AI in their daily work from the outset, creating an early foundation for school-wide experimentation and shared learning.
Throughout the pilot, teachers and students will explore how AI can support different parts of school life. A year-end showcase will bring together what they create, offering an opportunity to share practical examples, reflect on what works, and explore further applications across learning and school operations.
Turn text, images, audio, and video into ready-to-use teaching materials
Help teachers develop, organize, and adapt classroom resources more efficiently
Enable students to build websites, apps, games, and digital content with AI and cloud tools
Support everyday teaching and school workflows, including assignment review, feedback preparation, and working with learning information
Make school events and communication more accessible across languages
For the three primary schools, QwenWork brings the opportunity to build practical AI literacy alongside everyday use, helping teachers apply AI with confidence and giving students experience creating with it responsibly. Through the partnership, QwenWork will support the schools as they test what works in real educational settings and develop practical approaches to AI-enabled teaching and learning.
