To use Alibaba Cloud Workspace services, such as Elastic Desktop Service (EDS) and App Streaming, on your on-premises computer, follow the instructions in this topic to download and install a desktop client (Windows client or macOS client).
This topic uses the macOS client V7.13 and the Enterprise Edition as an example. If your experience differs from the description in this topic, you may be using a different client or an outdated version. Upgrade to the latest version.
Install a client
If you do not have the desktop client installed on your computer, follow these steps to install it.
Download the client that corresponds to the operating system of your on-premises device. Download URL: Alibaba Cloud Workspace client download page.
Windows client: Supports 64-bit Windows 7 or later.
macOS client: Supports macOS 10.15 or later.
After the installation file is downloaded, double-click the file and install the client as prompted.
Update the client
If you already have the desktop client installed on your computer, you can check the current version number and check for available upgrades.
Access the update interface based on your logon status:
Before you log on: On the client logon interface, click the icon in the upper-right corner and select About.
After you log on: On the cloud resources interface, click the icon in the upper-right corner and select About.
In the About window, view the current version number. Click Check for Update to check for new versions.
Next steps
After the client is installed, you can log on to the client to use and manage your cloud resources. For more information, see Log on to a desktop client.
