Last Updated:Feb 27, 2026

SSL-VPN quotas define upper limits for SSL-VPN resources and API call rates. View your current quota usage, request increases for adjustable quotas, and create quota templates to automate quota management across your organization.

Quota management consoles

Manage SSL-VPN quotas in either of the following consoles:

ConsoleWhen to useLink
Quota CenterCentralized quota management across all Alibaba Cloud servicesQuota Center console
VPC consoleProduct-specific quota management under VPN GatewayVPC console

Both consoles display the same general quota items and produce the same results. For API rate limits, use the Quota Center console.

Quota types

SSL-VPN quotas fall into two categories:

Prerequisites

By default, only Alibaba Cloud accounts can manage quotas in Quota Center. To allow RAM users to manage quotas, grant the AliyunQuotasFullAccess permission.

View quotas

View SSL-VPN quota values and usage through any of the following methods:

View quotas in the VPC console

  1. Log on to the VPC console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose O&M and Monitoring > Quota Management.

  3. On the Quota Management page, click the VPN Gateway tab in the Service section.

  4. Select a quota type:

    • To view general quotas, click the General Quota tab in the Quota Type section. Filter by keyword to find the quota name, description, and usage.

    • To view API rate limits, click the API Rate Limit tab in the Quota Type section. Filter by keyword and Region to find the API version and quota.

Request a quota increase

If a default quota does not meet your business requirements, request an increase. You can request increases for both general quotas and API rate limits in the Quota Center console. In the VPC console, only general quotas support increase requests.

    • If the Apply button is unavailable, follow the on-screen instructions in the Actions column.

  6. In the Apply for Quotas dialog box, set Applied Quotas and Reason, then click OK. > Note: Provide a reasonable quota value and a detailed reason. Requests with clear reasoning are more likely to be approved.

  7. After you submit the request, click Application Records in the Actions column to track the approval status. The technical support team reviews your request and sends the result by text message and email. When the Status shows Approved, the quota increase takes effect.

Create a quota template

If a quota template is Enabled and you have joined it, the template automatically submits quota increase requests for new members that are added to your resource directory by the management account. Existing member accounts are not affected. Use quota templates to standardize quotas across your organization.
