If you no longer use purchased subscription resources or resource plans, you can unsubscribe from them as described in this topic. For pay-as-you-go resources that you no longer use, you do not need to unsubscribe. To stop billing, back up your data and then release the resources.
Understand the unsubscription rules
Before you unsubscribe, read the Unsubscription rules to confirm whether your product supports unsubscription.
After you cancel your subscription, the associated resources are released. Back up your data beforehand. A subscription cancellation is irreversible. Carefully review the order information to prevent errors.
Unsubscribe from a resource
By default, an Alibaba Cloud account has the permission to unsubscribe from resources. Before a Resource Access Management (RAM) user can unsubscribe, the Alibaba Cloud account must grant the RAM user the required permissions, such as
AliyunBSSFullAccess.You can unsubscribe from resources only on a PC. You cannot unsubscribe from resources on mobile devices, such as the Alibaba Cloud app or mobile browsers.
Log on to the Expenses and Costs console and go to the Unsubscribe page. The system displays a list of resources that you can unsubscribe from, categorized by resource type, refund type, and effective status.
Active instance orders appear on the Unsubscribe Resource (new console) or Unsubscribe from resources that are being used (old console) tab. If you unsubscribe, both the current order (the active order) and any pending renewal orders for the resource are canceled.
Pending renewal orders appear on the Unsubscribe From Pending Renewals tab. If you unsubscribe, the pending orders are canceled, but the currently active service is not affected.
Unsubscribe from active orders
Active orders are categorized into Cloud Resources and Resource Plans. If the resource has pending renewal orders, the renewal orders are also canceled when you unsubscribe.
Cloud resources
There are two unsubscription types for cloud resources: Partial Refund and Non-refundable.
Only resources eligible for a Partial Refund support batch unsubscription. You can unsubscribe from up to 50 instances at a time. The refund amount is calculated based on official rules.
On the Cloud Resource tab, you can filter resources by product name, instance ID, or order time. Find the instance ID of the resource that you want to unsubscribe from and click Unsubscribe Resource or Batch Unsubscribe Resources.
On the Unsubscribe Resource page, carefully check the resource information, unsubscription terms, and refund amount. Then, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the unsubscription.
Resource plans
There are two unsubscription types for resource plans: 5-day Unused Money-back Guarantee and Partial Refund.
Only resources eligible for a Partial Refund support batch unsubscription. You can unsubscribe from up to 50 instances at a time. The refund amount is calculated based on official rules.
On the Resource Plan tab, you can filter by product name, instance ID, or order time. Find the resource plan instance ID that you want to unsubscribe from, click Unsubscribe Resource or Batch Unsubscribe Resources, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the unsubscription.
Unsubscribe from pending renewals
Unsubscribe from pending renewals
Log on to the Unsubscribe page.
Click the Unsubscribe From Pending Renewals tab. You can filter by product name and instance ID. Find one or more instances that you want to unsubscribe from and click Unsubscribe From Renewal or Batch Unsubscribe From Renewals. Then, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the unsubscription.
If an instance has been renewed multiple times, you can select an expiration time from the Expiration Time After Change drop-down list to cancel specific renewal orders. You can cancel one or more orders at a time.
Check the refund status
Refunds are generally returned to the original payment source. After a successful unsubscription, the time it takes for the refund to arrive varies depending on the processing speed of the payment channel. It can take up to 30 business days.

You can check your unsubscription records in the following ways:
Log on to the Unsubscribe page and click Unsubscription Records to view the unsubscription history of your account.
In the unsubscription list, find the unsubscribed order and click Details in the Actions column. On the Order Details page, you can view information such as Refund Status, Refund Destination, Refund Time, and Refund Amount. The arrival time and method of the refund depend on your payment method.
