Certificate Management Service:What are the limits on appending domain names to a certificate?

Last Updated:Jan 16, 2024

To append domain names to an SSL certificate, make sure that the following requirements are met:

  • The certificate is purchased and issued by using Certificate Management Service. The certificate is of the organization validated (OV) or extended validation (EV) type and of the GlobalSign, DigiCert, GeoTrust, or China Financial Certification Authority (CFCA) brand. You cannot append domain names to free certificates.

  • The certificate has been issued for more than 28 calendar days.

To view the issuance time of a certificate, perform the following operations: In the certificate list, find the certificate and click Details in the Actions column. In the Certificate Details panel, view the issuance time of the certificate.

  • The certificate is not in the Hosted state. If you want to append a domain name to a hosted certificate, you must cancel hosting for the certificate. For more information, see Cancel hosting for a certificate.
