After submitting a certificate application, the certificate moves through the following stages before it is ready to deploy:
Validating application — The certificate authority (CA) is reviewing your application and verifying domain ownership.
Failed — The review did not pass. Fix the issue and submit a new application.
Issued — The CA approved the application. Download or deploy the certificate.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
Check the review status
Log on to the Certificate Management Service console.Certificate Management Service console
In the left navigation pane, choose Certificate Management > SSL Certificate Management.
On the Official Certificate tab, find your certificate and check the value in the Status column.
Stage 1: Validating application
How long the review takes

|---|---|---|
| DV (Domain Validated) | 1–15 minutes when information is correct | Automatically fails after 2 calendar days |
| OV (Organization Validated) and EV (Extended Validation) | 5 calendar days when information is correct and you cooperate actively | Automatically fails after 30 calendar days |

DV certificates
No action required. The CA processes your application automatically and issues the certificate when approved.
OV and EV certificates
The CA contacts you within one business day (extended during holidays). Cooperate with any verification requests promptly to avoid delays.
If the information you provide is correct and you cooperate actively, OV and EV certificates are typically issued within five calendar days. If you do not receive a phone call or email within 5 business days, contact your account manager.
Phone verification
CA staff call the contact phone number you provided in the certificate application. Keep the line open to receive the call.
Email verification
The CA sends a domain verification email to the contact email address you provided. Check your inbox — including your spam and promotions folders — and follow the instructions in the email.
The email content varies by certificate brand. The following is an example for reference only. Use the actual email you receive.
