Simple Log Service provides an end-to-end service for querying, analyzing, processing, and consuming logs. This lets you focus on analysis instead of the operational overhead of data management. This topic describes how to enable or disable the log analysis feature.
Before you begin
Before you grant authorization for the log analysis feature, you must have already activated the Short Message Service and the Simple Log Service.

Enable log analysis
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Short Message Service Console.
In the left navigation pane, choose .
On the Messaging Log Analysis page, click Authorize.
Click OK. Follow the on-screen instructions to grant Short Message Service the AliyunServiceRoleForDysmsLog role to access SLS.
ImportantThis operation is required only during the initial configuration , and must be authorized by an Alibaba Cloud account.
If you use a Resource Access Management (RAM) user, that RAM user must have the required permissions. For more information, see RAM user authorization.
Do not revoke the authorization or delete the RAM role. Otherwise, Fraud Detection logs cannot be delivered to SLS.
After enabling log analysis for Short Message Service, the system automatically creates a project named sms-log-{AlibabaCloudAccountID} and a dedicated logstore named sms-log.
Log analysis is enabled after the authorization succeeds.
You can view your data in the Log Operations Center, Business Statistics Center, and O&M Center.
Disable log analysis
To disable log analysis, delete the associated RAM roles and the SLS project.
Go to the Projects page in the SLS console and delete the sms-log-168078171236**** project.
Go to the Roles page in the RAM console and delete the AliyunServiceRoleForDysmsLog and AliyunServiceRoleForSLSAudit roles.
After deleting these resources, log analysis is disabled the next day.
The change takes effect the next day. You are billed for the full day on which you disable the feature, along with the following day. No charges apply after that.
Advanced management
Use advanced management to open the Simple Log Service (SLS) console. There, you can configure alerts and notifications, set up real-time data subscription and consumption, manage data shipping, and integrate with data visualization services.
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Short Message Service Console.
In the left navigation pane, choose .
In the upper-right corner, click Set Log Retention Period.
In the dialog box, click Simple Log Service Console to open the SLS console.
