Simple Log Service provides one-stop services for querying, analyzing, processing, and consuming logs, helping you focus on analysis while freeing you from the tedious tasks of querying and organizing data. This topic explains how to enable or disable the log analysis feature developed by Simple Log Service in Alibaba Cloud SMS.
Usage notes
Activate Alibaba Cloud SMS and Simple Log Service before you use the log analysis feature in Alibaba Cloud SMS.

Enable log analysis
Log on to the SMS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the Messaging Log Analysis page, click Authorize.
Click OK and follow the instructions to grant Alibaba Cloud SMS to access Simple Log Service using the AliyunServiceRoleForDysmsLog role.
ImportantThis operation is required only during the initial configuration and must be performed by an Alibaba Cloud account.
If you are a RAM user, ensure that you have the required permissions. For more information, see Authorize RAM users to enable log analysis.
Do not revoke the authorization or delete the RAM role. Otherwise, fraud detection logs cannot be pushed to Simple Log Service.
Once the log analysis feature is enabled, the system automatically generates a project called sms-log-Alibaba Cloud account ID along with a Logstore named sms-log.
After the authorization is successful, the log analysis feature is enabled.
You can view data in Log Operations Center, Business Statistics Center, and O&M Center.
Disable log analysis
If you no longer need the log analysis service, delete the relevant roles in the Resource Access Management console and remove the SMS project from the project list.
Navigate to Projects and delete the SMS project. In this example, sms-log-168078171236**** is deleted.
Go to the RAM role list and delete the AliyunServiceRoleForDysmsLog and AliyunServiceRoleForSLSAudit roles.
Then, the log analysis feature will be disabled the following day.
Log Analysis will be disabled the following day, and charges will apply on that day. No charges will apply thereafter.
Advanced management
You can use the advanced management features to navigate to the Simple Log Service console for performing advanced operations such as setting up alerts and notifications, real-time subscription and consumption, data delivery, and integrating with visualization services.
Log on to the SMS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
Click Set Log Retention Period in the upper-right corner.
In the dialog box that appears, click Simple Log Service Console.
