Hybrid Cloud Monitoring pushes metric repository data to Simple Log Service, where you can query, analyze, visualize, ship, transform, and set alerts on the data. This page covers the resources, billing, and limits that apply.
Billing
Storage space and data ingestion by Hybrid Cloud Monitoring are free of charge. If you use additional features such as data transformation, consumption, alerting, or data shipping, Simple Log Service charges you for read traffic, requests, data transformation, and data shipping. For more information, see Billable items of pay-by-feature.
Limits
Only Hybrid Cloud Monitoring can write data to the dedicated MetricStore, and you can change the data retention period only from the Hybrid Cloud Monitoring console. Query and analysis, alerting, and consumption are not subject to special limits.
You cannot delete the MetricStore created by Hybrid Cloud Monitoring from the Simple Log Service console or by using an API. You also cannot delete the Project created by Hybrid Cloud Monitoring from the Simple Log Service console. For more information, see Data storage solutions for Hybrid Cloud Monitoring.
Enable the log dump feature for Hybrid Cloud Monitoring
Prerequisites
Simple Log Service is activated.
Hybrid Cloud Monitoring is activated. For more information, see Activate Hybrid Cloud Monitoring.
Procedure
Log on to the CloudMonitor console.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose .
Click Create Metric Repository.
In the Metric Repository Management panel, set Data Storage Solution to Simple Log Service (Recommended).
What to do next
After you dump metric repository data to Simple Log Service, you can query and analyze, download, ship, transform, and create alerts on the data. For more information, see Common operations on logs of Alibaba Cloud services.
Once metric repository data is stored in Simple Log Service, you cannot disable this storage feature. To stop dumping data, delete the metric repository. For more information, see Delete a metric repository.
