When you create a namespace in Hybrid Cloud Monitoring, you must select a storage scheme for monitoring data. The available storage schemes are Prometheus service storage, Simple Log Service storage, and Cloud Monitor storage.
After 00:00:00 (UTC+8) on June 10, 2025, you can no longer create namespaces that use Simple Log Service storage or Cloud Monitor storage.
Prometheus service storage
After 00:00:00 (UTC+8) on June 10, 2025, the Prometheus service will be the only supported storage scheme for namespaces. Monitoring data is stored in the Prometheus instance in your current account.
After you activate the Prometheus service, when you create a namespace in Hybrid Cloud Monitoring, a Prometheus instance is created by default in the China (Hangzhou) region. The instance name uses the format cmee-Namespace name.
When you use the Prometheus service for the first time, activate the service as prompted on the interface. For more information, see Activate the Prometheus service.
You are not charged for Prometheus instances that are created using the Hybrid Cloud Monitoring console or API, or for the data stored in these instances.
You cannot modify or delete Prometheus instances that are created in Hybrid Cloud Monitoring using the Prometheus console or API.
Simple Log Service storage (no longer available for new resources)
Monitoring data is stored in Simple Log Service (SLS) in the current Alibaba Cloud account.
After you activate SLS, when you create a namespace in Hybrid Cloud Monitoring, SLS creates a project and a Metricstore in the China (Hangzhou) region by default. The project name uses the format cms-hybrid-Alibaba Cloud account ID-Region ID-random number (four letters and digits). The Metricstore is named after the namespace. In addition to the Hybrid Cloud Monitoring console, you can access this monitoring data using the SLS console or API. You can also use SLS features to process the data.
You cannot use the SLS console or API to delete the Metricstores that are created by Hybrid Cloud Monitoring. You also cannot use the SLS console to delete the projects that are created by Hybrid Cloud Monitoring.
After 00:00:00 (UTC+8) on June 10, 2025, you can no longer create namespaces that use Simple Log Service storage.
When you use SLS for the first time, click Activate Now and activate the service as prompted. For more information, see Activate Simple Log Service.
You are not charged for the projects and Metricstores that are created using the Hybrid Cloud Monitoring console or API, or for the data stored in them.
If you process the stored monitoring data using the SLS console or API, you are charged based on the billing standards of SLS. For more information about SLS billing, see Billing overview.
For more information about storing Hybrid Cloud Monitoring data in SLS, see Hybrid Cloud Monitoring logs and Enable the log dump feature for Hybrid Cloud Monitoring.
Cloud Monitor storage (no longer available for new resources)
Monitoring data is stored in the private storage space provided by Cloud Monitor. This data can be accessed and used only in the Cloud Monitor console.
After 00:00:00 (UTC+8) on June 10, 2025, you can no longer create namespaces that use Cloud Monitor storage.
