CloudMonitor:Data storage schemes for Hybrid Cloud Monitoring

Last Updated:Apr 15, 2025

When you create a namespace in Hybrid Cloud Monitoring, you must select a storage scheme for metric data. Hybrid Cloud Monitoring supports the following data storage schemes for metric data:

SLS storage

The metric data is stored in Simple Log Service (SLS) within the current Alibaba Cloud account.

When you create a namespace in Hybrid Cloud Monitoring after you activate SLS, SLS creates a project and a Metricstore in the China (Hangzhou) region by default. The project is named in the format of cms-hybrid-<Alibaba Cloud account ID>-<Region ID>-<Random number (consisting of four characters including letters and digits)>. The Metricstore is named after the namespace. In addition to the Hybrid Cloud Monitoring console, you can also access metric data by using the SLS console or by calling API operations. You can also use the related functions of SLS to process the metric data.

You cannot use the SLS console or call API operations to delete the Metricstores that are created by Hybrid Cloud Monitoring. You cannot use the SLS console to delete the projects that are created by Hybrid Cloud Monitoring.

Note
  • When you use SLS for the first time, click Activate Now to activate the service as prompted. For more information, see Step 1: Activate Simple Log Service.

  • When you use SLS, you are not charged for the projects and Metricstores that are created by using the Hybrid Cloud Monitoring console or by calling API operations, and the related data storage.

  • When you process the stored metric data by using the SLS console or by calling API operations, you are charged based on the billing rules of SLS. For more information about the billing of SLS, see Billing overview.

  • For more information about how to store metric data for Hybrid Cloud Monitoring in SLS, see Usage notes and Enable the log dump feature of Hybrid Cloud Monitoring.

CloudMonitor storage

The metric data is stored in the private storage space provided by CloudMonitor and can be accessed and used only in the CloudMonitor console.
