Simple Application Server:Monitoring and logging

Last Updated:Jun 02, 2026

Simple Application Server provides built-in instance metrics and integrates with CloudMonitor, ActionTrail, and Cloud Config to help you track resource usage, receive alerts, and audit operations in real time.

Monitoring

Simple Application Server instance metrics

Simple Application Server tracks data transfers, vCPU utilization, memory usage, network bandwidth utilization, and disk I/O. View the monitoring information.

CloudMonitor-based monitoring

Simple Application Server integrates with CloudMonitor, a free monitoring service from Alibaba Cloud. CloudMonitor lets you monitor cloud resources and applications in real time. Activate CloudMonitor to gain visibility into resource performance and detect disruptions.

Once activated, CloudMonitor automatically collects data from your simple application servers. You can view monitoring charts in the CloudMonitor console and configure alert rules to receive notifications for anomalies.

Enable proactive alerting

CloudMonitor lets you enable proactive alerting for key Simple Application Server metrics with one click, so you stay informed about resource consumption and service health. Enable the proactive alerting feature.

Configure custom alert rules

Create custom dashboards to track specific metrics: Manage the monitoring charts of a custom dashboard.

Alert rules support multiple notification methods: phone calls, text messages, emails, DingTalk chatbots, and the Alibaba Cloud app.

To suppress alerts for specific metrics, create a blacklist: Manage blacklist policies.

ActionTrail

Simple Application Server integrates with ActionTrail to record user logons and resource access within your Alibaba Cloud account. ActionTrail supports security analysis, intrusion detection, resource change tracking, and compliance audits.

Manage log data through the ActionTrail console, API, or developer tools. Supported events: Audit events of Simple Application Server.

ActionTrail retains event data for 90 days. For longer retention, create a trail that delivers events to a Simple Log Service Logstore or an OSS bucket. Use the advanced event query feature to query events.

After you create a trail, query or analyze events in the Simple Log Service or OSS console. Query events in the Simple Log Service or OSS console.

To trace historical events, submit a ticket to request the required permissions.

Operational logs

Simple Application Server operation records

The Operation Records page shows the history of server actions: start, stop, restart, password change, and system reset. Use this history to analyze and trace past operations. View the operation records of a server.
