After you create a product portfolio, you can add products to the product portfolio. Then, you can configure constraints and permissions for the products in the product portfolio. This way, you can manage multiple products in a product portfolio at a time. You can also update or delete product portfolios based on your business requirements.

Prerequisites

You are granted the administrative rights of Service Catalog. For more information, see Grant permissions to the administrator.

Create a product portfolio

You can perform the following steps to configure parameters to create a product. The parameters are the Name, Provider, and Description parameters.

  1. Log on to the Service Catalog console as the administrator.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > Portfolio management.
  3. On the Portfolio management page, click Create portfolio.
  4. On the Create portfolio page, configure the following parameters and click Confirm.
    Parameter Description Example
    Name Enter a name for the product portfolio to be created. Elastic Compute Service (ECS) and Server Load Balancer (SLB) product portfolio.
    Provider Enter the provider of the product portfolio to be created. If you have questions about the permissions that are configured in the product portfolio, contact the provider of the product portfolio. Alice.
    Description Enter a detailed description for the product portfolio to be created. Manage ECS and SLB products in a centralized manner.

Update a product portfolio

To modify the basic information about a product portfolio, perform the following steps to modify the values of the Name, Provider, and Description parameters:

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > Portfolio management.
  2. On the Portfolio management page, find the product portfolio whose basic information you want to modify and click Edit in the Operation column.
  3. In the Modify portfolio dialog box, modify the values of Name, Provider, and Description.
  4. Click Confirm.

Delete a product portfolio

To delete a product portfolio, you must remove all products from the product portfolio. For more information about how to remove products from a product portfolio, see Remove a product from the product portfolio.

Note Before you delete a product portfolio, make sure that the product portfolio is no longer in use. If the product portfolio is still in use and you delete the product portfolio, end users cannot manage the products in the product portfolio.
  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > Portfolio management.
  2. On the Portfolio management page, find the product portfolio that you want to delete and click Delete in the Operation column.
  3. In the Delete Portfolio message, check the information and click Confirm.
