Service Catalog:Manage product portfolios

Administrators can add products to a product portfolio, configure constraints and permissions, and manage multiple products as a group. Administrators can also update or delete product portfolios as needed.

Prerequisites

Make sure you have administrator permissions for Service Catalog. For more information, see Grant permissions to an administrator.

Create a product portfolio

Create a product portfolio and configure its name, provider, and description.

  1. Log on to the Service Catalog console as the administrator.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > Portfolio management.
  3. On the Portfolio management page, click Create portfolio.
  4. On the Create product portfolio page, set the following parameters and then click Confirm.
    Parameter Description Example
    Name The name of the product portfolio. ECS and SLB product portfolio
    Provider The provider of the product portfolio. Contact the provider if you have questions about permissions. Alice
    Description A description of the product portfolio. Manage ECS and SLB products centrally

Update a product portfolio

Update a product portfolio's name, provider, or description.

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > Portfolio management.
  2. On the Portfolio management page, find the target product portfolio and click Edit in the Operation column.
  3. In the Modify portfolio dialog box, update the Name, Provider, and Description.
  4. Click Confirm.

Delete a product portfolio

Remove all products from a product portfolio before deleting it. For instructions, see Remove products from a product portfolio.

Note Before you delete a product portfolio, make sure it is no longer in use. Otherwise, end users cannot manage the products in the portfolio.
  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > Portfolio management.
  2. On the Portfolio management page, find the target product portfolio and click Delete in the Operation column.
  3. In the Delete Portfolio dialog box, confirm the portfolio information and then click Confirm.
